Game Thread 2022-23 PRESEASON - GAME #4 - BLAZERS @ KINGS - OCTOBER 9, 2022 - SUNDAY - 6:00 PM (PDT)

We got Simons out there with the assignment on the 6’8” Huerter.

This is going to be a disaster. Can’t wait til he has to guard Klay Thompson.

I really don't think our height was the issue. Most of their 3's were wide-open shots. If they are 3-4 feet away from a player on the perimeter, do 3 inches really matter?
Same with whoever was guarding Murray.

Longer players can close out faster. Plus, Huerter hit a few shots that were contested.

Dame (Ant) gets broken down off the dribble. Defense rotates. Doesn't seem to communicate. Ball finds the guy outside the arc with no one in his zip code and he hits the 3. Rinse. Repeat.

There is no reason Billups can't move Hart to SG and put Winslow at SF in the starting unit.

Well, as much as I'd like to see Sharpe get another incredible 3 minutes of playing time, I'm tired (and tired of this game) so I'm heading to bed.

<sigh> Horrible having any excitement for he season sucked out in the preseason - usually it lasts until at least 3-4 games into the season.

I'm still wondering what "proven vet" we were going to acquire that was going to make us contenders in the next couple of years. Every time I hear this argument I think "Yeah, that sounds great. Except the guy doesn't exist."
You’ll never know now right. Enjoy what’s on the menu.

So is Harrison Barns like really good now or are the Blazers just not really good?

Go back and check my posts from before the draft. I was all in on Keagan.

At what we've seen thus far, I'm thinking the "Fire Billups" requests will start becoming notable by Christmas barring the team suddenly looking much better on both sides of the ball.
He’s a rookie coach. Last year meant nothing in terms of learning how to actually coach meaningful games.

So Winslow not only loses out on the starting SF spot, but also completely out of the rotation???

So how many games will it take for the team to properly gel?

75? 80?

say what you want, but when our best players were out (dame, cj mccollum, powell), the team played really good defense and offense

effort and chemistry were there (obviously not enough talent to work long term, but that team was such a great fit)

If there is a silver lining, since we play them in game one, I would rather get killed rather us than killing them. The Blazers need some extra motivation.

The kings announcers are saying what most of us are thinking...

I’m anxious to see Sharpe back in the game to stand in the corner

ha! you mistake these guys as those who give a damn. not a single player on this team will even remember this game after it's done and every one of them will chalk it up to preseason.

Chauncey going with the exact same rotation this half because it worked so well in the first half
