I think Thybulle is actually a needle mover.
In this case, they'd be getting Gordon, so not for free?Philly ain't giving away Thybulle for free....

So what is Houston getting out of this?
So we are ponying up the pick, yes?Getting rid of Gordon. Probably a future pick.
his vaccination stance aside, i really like the idea of adding thybulle for just the cost of taking on more salary (korkmaz, etc). from his social media stuff, he looks like a fun character and would bring much needed levity to the squad, much like ingles/hart.
he would be a problem to play in the playoffs but he's gonna win us regular season games with his disruptive defense. he's a really poor rebounder so his fit with Grant would be a bit tricky, but it's very easy to get him on the floor for 25-30 mpg if we stagger the rotation a bit.
to go against him and nas for 48 minutes is hell for opposing teams and i have been desperately wanting that. And i would hope Chauncey lets thybulle gamble and play his unconventional way to get the most out of him ( i thought doc really handcuffed him).

do they have a TPE big enough to simply absorb Thybulle?Dallas wants Thybulle too. I could see them beating us out.
No. They just had a 10 million dollar one expire the other daydo they have a TPE big enough to simply absorb Thybulle?
so if direct cap savings is what Philly wants, we have a leg up on Dallas.No. They just had a 10 million dollar one expire the other day

i don't see why Houston would need to be involved. Can be two separate deals.Dallas could send a player to Houston if they really wanted Thybulle.
After the Phi/Mem deal, they need Thybulle's salary (+ others) to be traded out as ballast to get Gordon. That's why it needs to be a 3way.i don't see why Houston would need to be involved. Can be two separate deals.
We deal with Philly for Thybulle.
Philly deals with Houston for Gordon.
I kinda think the push to get the Thybulle contract out has more to do with Philly's pursuit of PJ Tucker, and the Gordon stuff is tangential.

isn't gordon/melton duplicative to an extent. wonder why houston still wants EG?After the Phi/Mem deal, they need Thybulle's salary (+ others) to be traded out as ballast to get Gordon. That's why it needs to be a 3way.
I don't know if this is iron clad but:i don't see why Houston would need to be involved. Can be two separate deals.

right, and they'd need to clear room to open up that NTMLE for PJ.I don't know if this is iron clad but:

That's full MLE money that the report is talking about. So like I said, I don't know how iron clad it is.right, and they'd need to clear room to open up that NTMLE for PJ.
prolly overthinking it, but i'm also wondering about houston's willingness to give morey what he wants. that was a not a good breakup and the rockets' owner seems like the petty type.Houston has a good chunk of cap space, I believe, where they could trade Gordon and Martin Jr. For Harris. Philly moves Harris, thybulle and a pick for Gordon. We take on thybulle and Martin? Houston likely wants more than a future pick to take on Harris, but after the season, he's a large expiring at a time they could be looking to actually compete instead of outright tanking.
I could at least see them trying to stick it to him or mindfuck him by making him feel like he "lost the deal" which I know Morey prides himself on never doing. I think if I had to work with Morey, I might pull some petty shit like that if it didn't hurt my overall goals.prolly overthinking it, but i'm also wondering about houston's willingness to give morey what he wants. that was a not a good breakup and the rockets' owner seems like the petty type.
