Don’t care if it’s pre-season, I hate losing. Big man who can shoot and hot, the coach sits him down
Agree, WTF. He had the purist shot, even under pressure, and you sit him the last minute. Helloooooooo.

Quick thoughts with crazy-little data:
  • Watford looks like a guy who thinks of himself as the #17 player from the 2019 high school class (Stewart was #2, incidentally) but plays like a player who wasn't drafted (3-10 FGs, 4 turnovers, 7 personal fouls).
  • KJohnson looked good but didn't seem to do anything especially well. He had trouble finishing and had five turnovers.
  • Not that it really matters, but BWilliams should be better than he was tonight and was, along with Watford, the main reason we lost.
  • Greg Brown still could become something. He has tools and an energy level that some day might add up to a role in a rotation.
  • Walker looked good. I wonder if he'll get more than 15 minutes next game.
  • Sharpe being hurt sucks. I hope it's not serious. (How's THAT for two obvious statements? :) )
  • Detroit was playing a lot more of its actual team tonight. If Cunningham and Bey had played, it would have been a remarkable number of their rotation guys.
  • Duren sure looked good and springy.
  • Ivey looked ... fine. He didn't look that good shooting the ball and he didn't look especially explosive, but it's so hard to tell in summer league. I disliked how they showed his mom so much... it was like watching an Olympics broadcast that's more focused on a story than on the game.

Thoughts on the game:
Doris Burke doesn't know the rules
Summer league officiating is the dumbest thing I've ever seen
No wait, the dumbest thing I've ever seen is interviewing moms during the game
Walker, Keon and Watford looked good
I'm a masochist for watching

The rookie had a goal tend and two really bad passes early...didn't shoot well....he looked like a "rookie" ...he's just a kid but he is going to have a learning curve, that's apparent.

I was more entertained by this game, than i've been with any other sporting event of late. Sorry don't dig hockey, soccer, or corn holedog.

Then he got bumped by Ivey and took the out

and if it is? Did you honestly expect him to even get on the court in the next few seasons?
Whatever your expectation are I don't think the best use of his time is rehabbing, so I'm not sure what your point is.

I loved what I saw outta Jabari. It’s summer league but you can tell when someone plays in control.

Keon can play.

That’s about it. I don’t think summer league is a good setting for someone like Watford. Guys like that are better when it’s a more controlled environment.

Then again, Dame was special out the gate in Summer League.

to be fair, the guy who looked most out of control on our squad was Trendon. he looked like he was so out of his depth and we never saw that last year.

Walker looks ahead of his years. Poised, on both ends.

he wasn’t good in summer league last year either. It’s just glorified pickup.
