And I assume, two-way is optional, meaning at team could have no 3-way contracts. . Well in that case, this is what I'm projecting14 regular spots

standard:
scoot
ant
sharpe
brogdon
thybulle
rupert
camara
knox
grant
walker
murray
ayton
williams
reath
2-way:
mays
cut:
minaya
brown
conditt
badji
butler
I don't feel so strongly about anyone else to give another two-way to, but maybe one of centers - badji brown conditt
Have to say I like that court design.
Do we have the in-season tournament court design photo??

Im not worried about ball handling in the second unit. They are very unlikely to use a trap which is my only relevant concern with Sharpe’s handle (dribbling in traffic as well) in terms of initiating the offense. I had spaced on Brogdon and he is a great backup whom I trust. Again, it isn’t ball handling that is my concern with Ant or Mays, its their “shoot first” selfish mentality.I love Sharpe's game but when Scoot is not on the court, I would argue that Brogdon, Mays, and Ant are all better ball-handlers than Shae at this point. Maybe not by much, but still better.
Thats easy. Cut Knox, Minyana and Conditt. Keep Reath and Brown. We have wings and guards for days. Plus big men get injured more often.18. 15 regular spots. 3 2 ways. Three players have to go.
Roster cut deadline is the 21st I believe.
So,
Moses Brown
Duop Reath
Justin Minaya
George Conditt
Kevin Knox
3 out of those 5 will likely be gone.
Badji, Butler, and Mays are two ways. Blazers could waive some of them and sign guys as 2 ways and keep most of these guys.
I don't understand this Sharpe as the backup PG discussion?
With 3 starting quality PGs on the roster, and that being by far our strongest position, Sharpe will never play that role this year. He might initiate offense, but that is a very routine, very normal SG role. Durant routinely does it but I'd never call him a PG.
Maybe we have very different definitions of what makes a player a PG.

When he has started at PG, he has played that position just fine. I've shown the data previously from 82games.com that shows he's been more efficient and productive at the PG position than at SG.Just out of curiosity, who are the three starting quality PGs?
I think some may have Ant pegged as such but to me he is far from starting quality PG. Not much of a PG, more of an SG.
Agreed, and I don't think it's a difficult choice to keep Reath over Brown.3 centers plus 1 on a 2-way contract is what I see. I doubt they keep 4 centers on the active roster. It seems to me it will come down to either Brown or Reath.

Head to head for his whole career, Ayton has dominated Zubac.Glad to hear Coach Billups say he expects Robert Williams to be ready to play!
and this is the latest game on the schedule of the NBA's action by an hour so all the neutral NBA junkie fans will probably tune in to watch the 2nd half..
Knowing Westbrook he's gonna probably try to get in Scoota's head a bit.. He used to do that "rock the baby" cradle hand gesture to younger PG's years back dunno if he still does it but Scoota wont back down so it could be a funny matchup..
Can we get Ayton rolling early? The Clippers dont really play Zubac and Plumlee all that many minutes, can we punish their smaller looks?
There's not really a single player on the roster who can generate us handfuls of unexpected wins quite like if Ayton is consistently putting up massive stats(23 and 12.5rebs), which is why his contact is what it is.. So I'm kinda fingers crossed hoping he can hit the ground running in his debut n then ride that momentum into consistency n the blazers playing competitive ball...
Ayton was always "the man" on all of his teams, always, until he got to PHX and the NBA and they had Devin Booker.. So i'm very interested to see what he can do if we sorta hand him the keys.. Cuz Billups n they were talking about letting him shoot 3's which is telling, they want him to put up big stats, try to get him to play a bit like David Robinson.
Brogdon?Obviously not in a starting position. I'm saying when Scoot isn't on the court, he's probably our best backup ballhandler. Unless you prefer Mays and Ant calling their own number and ignoring wide open players on the wings or cutting.
I wanted Reath over Brown. I don't understand what they did here.Yet they kept Brown
Beat I can figure, Brown would have more interest from other teams than Reath, so this is the way to keep them both around. But I'm only guessing here.I wanted Reath over Brown. I don't understand what they did here.
doesn't matter much, so take the vet? Say what you will, this team has a LOT of mentors for Sharpe and Scoot.I wanted Reath over Brown. I don't understand what they did here.

My guess is they value rim protection. It is the one thing he is better at than Reath. The guy is 7'2 with a 9'5" standing reach....and he moves well. As a 3rd center I have no problem with hm
