Game Thread 2023-24 - GAME #41 - BLAZERS VS PACERS - JANUARY 19, 2024 - 7:00 PM PST - ROOT

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

or......Chauncey finally figured out that a Greant-Walker frontcourt complements each other. Maybe Grant is finally our starting SF

I think we're going to trade Scoot, Sharpe, and Ant now that we've figured out going bigger is the answer.

If we want to win a championship now with Malcolm, Jerami, Tisse and Deandre then use all of our draft capital and young talent to get a couple of superstars/all stars in here.

Otherwise, fucking trade Jerami and Malcolm for good value to teams that want playoff wins right fucking now.
Only if the offers are good...

Marang has constantly told us Grant can't play SF...

I hope winning with bigger lineups does get us to trade Ant. I'm not sure that Jerami and Malcolm are who we build around for a championship. So I'm hoping all three of Ant, Jerami and Malcolm are traded in the next three weeks for pieces that make sense for a team rebuilding around a young back court that they believe in.

Blazers looked a lot better without an undersized bad-defense back court...6'5-6'5-6'8-6'8-7'0....been a long time since something like that

Jabari is only 21 and looking better and better as the season progresses

Trade all the guards (minus Brogdon)!

Toronto 2.0!

It'll be Scoot and Sharpe that get traded. It's win now time! Their value will never be higher...

As soon as the Blazers sweep their road trip.

If they go 1-3 0r 0-4, tonight didn't mean a whole lot. Except increasing the trade value for Grant and Brogdon.

I can't believe that with how useful Jerami and Malcolm have shown themselves the offers won't be good and with Ant good will be subjective because the guy could be a great second option scorer and facilitator who isn't great on D or maybe some value him as an all star. It's complicated but this team needs to head down one path and not come close to straddling, otherwise we can count on being mediocre in a way where we struggle to make the playoffs and don't have realistic expectations of winning in them.

I was surprised when they cut Watford, but they saw in fall camp that Walker had greatly improved.

Haliburton seems like he had a quiet game yet you look and he had 21pts, 17assts, 0 turnovers. Dude is a baller. His rise has been crazy. Currently the leading All-Star vote getter for Eastern Conference guards and it’s not even close.
Pacers stink. Haliburton should demand a trade to Miami.

I haven't seen a trade proposal that knocks my socks off.

It will need to be Scoot and Shaedon and as much draft capital as we can gather. Still it will be a huge task to make up the ground we need to.

That being said, I find your approach week. You can't handle the losing that a small market team like we are needs to do in order to win rings.

I say stay the course with Scoot, Shae, Toumani, Jabari, Kris, Rayan etc. Trade the guys with value right now and get prospects and draft capital to give us a real chance to win championships several years from now.

I think we're pot committed at this point.

I don't think the outcome will be great, but we're all along for the ride regardless!

I just want to put this out there. Chauncey has coached this team to two wins, with limited resources (even more limited than the roster already is). No one knows how good Chauncey could be as a head coach until given a roster that makes sense and he just hasn't been afforded that for one minute since he took this job.

His first couple months for his first two seasons he had a solid roster, but I'd agree after that, he hasn't had a ton of talent to coach.

Fans who can’t stomach small market teams temporarily rebuilding should just root for the Heat for Lakers for a little bit.
