Game Thread 2023-24 GAME #51 - BLAZERS VS PISTONS - FEBRUARY 8, 2024 - THURSDAY - 7:00 PM PST - ROOT

Blowing a 23-point lead, scoring 10 points in the final 8 minutes of regulation, and then just 2 points in overtime, at home, against a depleted version of the worst team in the league, may be one of the more pitiful performances I've ever seen.

but we have mentors!

I’m sick of the tanking. Don’t understand why the NBA allows a team like Portland to tank year after year. It’s disgraceful. Been a Blazer fan a long time, but I may be done. This franchise has lost whatever pride and dignity it once had.
I'd advise you to pull the plug now because it's not going to get better for a while.

We were without our 4 main guards, our center and his back up. Some guy who just joined the team was running the show. It’s amazing it was as close as it was.

I think we can pencil in Grant to be on the injury report for Saturday's game.

They shouldn't.

This is disgusting

Blazers blow 23 point lead 3rd qtr lead, and lose at home to the worst team in the NBA. The ping pong ball just jiggled.

this franchise has done an absolutely fantastic job in disengaging a rabid fanbase that is desperate to cling on to anything.

if we want to run our vets into the ground, be buyers at the deadline.

if we want to run head first into a youth movement, play all youngins and trade vets.

having jerami chuck 30 shots while we lose a 20 pt lead is not it.

for fucks sake, pick a lane you morons.

embarrassing. everyone needs to go.

That is a quality tank loss right there....

I was going to say impressive. That play at the end of regulation was legendary.

snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

I had never really seen much of Jalen Duren until tonight; I was pretty impressed

here's a question: if PG13 hadn't got Covid and the Clips beat the Pels in that play-in game in 2022, the Blazers would have had the 11th pick after taking Sharpe at 7. Reportedly, IIRC, the Blazers were interested in Duren and Jalen Williams. Would the Blazers have drafted Duren; or drafted Williams; or traded the 11th pick to Detroit for Grant (they wouldn't have had the Milwaukee 2025 first to trade)

keep in mind who duren was going against tonight. the size/height advantage was massive

yeah, I know...still, he's averaging 14 & 12 while shooting 65%. More than that is it looks like he is pretty capable of defending outside of the paint

Please don't say that. Spurs got arguably the greatest prospect ever and they look just as bad as they did last year. We need a top 2 pick.
this front office is so incompetent, they will just bench their prized rookies in hopes of losing close games with their vets playing. also, the shameless tanking is ridiculous when you do it every year.

the top prospects deserve better than this shit team.
