For those who want to tank, good news: Ayton will be back, and maybe Ant, too! :)

note: we're also 8th in pace. Wasn't playing fast suppose to help our offense?

Will be curious to see how Timelord, Clingan, and Sharpe play after excellent minutes against Minnesota.

If Ant or Ayton play do they try to get others involved more than their prior games or still force poor quality shots?

Finally how does the defensive effort look?

I miss having the best offense and worst defense and making the playoffs….. #FireStotts

I’m curious to see how this place reacts to a non Hakeem type night from Clingan again.

I’m curious to see how this place reacts to a non Hakeem type night from Clingan again.

20-year-old Clingan had 8 blocks in the last game and was 5-5 (100%) at the free-throw line.

21-year-old rookie Hakeem averaged 2.7 blocks per 36 minutes and shot 61% at the line as a rookie.

Clingan is averaging 4.7 blocks per 36 and is shooting 83% on his free-throws.

"This place" is hoping for many more non-Hakeem-type nights, at least compared to Hakeem when he was 1 year older than Clingan is now.

Alright. Lets go!!! Show the naysayer's how much more talented you are than they say you are!!!
Let’s go, three in a row!!!

Don't want our rookie to play like that bum Akeem.

A winning streak? Is this what we want right now? Seriously tacking on wins right now will make a difference. As soon as teams say "That's it we're tanking" you will not catch back down. We've all seen this before the last three years. Either tank or don't. No riding the fence.

In seriousness though, I thought Akeem/Hakeem most impressive stats was the steals he was able to get as a big man. Don't know if we've ever seen a 7 footer get that many.

If it's Clingan, Sharpe, Camara, Scoot, etc leading us to wins that's good. The growth of our young talent exceeds any cost of a worse pick. That could be a foundation to eventually contend.

If it's Grant, Ant, Ayton getting us wins then yes it's stupid long term as they will need even bigger contracts from what is already overpaid. They don't have the potential to lead a team to that next level of wins. There's no way to build that type of roster to contend.

Well that seems a bit obscure because All of them are on the team at this point. So we let the team win too many games now and cripple their tanking effort then trade some vets and go full tank and hope they fall into a better pick?
I'm good with trying to win but if you do you better go all in to win through the whole season. If they are thinking pick position at all they better stop winning right now!

We never should have had a roster with all these vets, was stupid to start this season with them. Your right they could lead to harmful wins early in the season that hurts our pick in a loaded draft.

If we had primarily our youth on this roster with maybe 1 vet and Timelord or such then rooting for wins would be fine and enjoyable and constructive long term.

Not sure what you mean by "we let the team win" or that is who you suggest should take an action.

Billups, assistant coaches and players should all try 100% to win. I'd never want a culture where any less is happening.

Cronin and the front office should construct the roster to lose when it's beneficial long term.

"Let the team win" is just my way of saying "let them play and try to win".
It was obvious the last three seasons they sat out players that would have logged wins. I mean they actually played CJ Elleby starter minutes?
Trying to sugar coat that type of blatant tanking is not going to happen with me?

That's post trade deadline at the end of the season. I was commenting on the current period from now until the trade deadline, which is a larger part of the season.

just a fyi....pace doesn't directly reflect fast-break/transition points. It's simply an estimate of the average number of possessions/48-minutes. Teams can have a faster pace by just chucking up FGA's faster in the shot clock; those don't have to be good FGA's and obviously aren't in Portland's case

Blazers are 8th in pace; 19th in fast-break points/game; 25th in fast-break efficiency; 27th in points/game; 30th in offensive rating.

pace is kind of a meaningless stat as a gauge of offense

Not sure what was worse….this post or you actually got 2 dorks to like it. I hope you didn’t sleep well after this.

Billups definitely tried to lose that game two years ago against the Spurs. We were up 8 so Chauncey put in John Butler Jr to play PG and we lost.

Looking like Tank Commanders Ant and Ayton will be out. Rob will be in.

Pace is pretty much meaningless by itself, but with the other information you provided you can see, our offense sucks.

You never go out there and tried to loose that's the wrong attitude if your trying to build a team. But would like to the big boy with more then 13 minutes especially if you're future center.

25 - 30 minutes would be abound right if Rob is playing.

I don't know it's has to be that amount minutes but a player needs enough to get in a rhythm of the game though. For instance Zach Collins gets about 14 minutes of the game and that means he plays about almost 4 minutes until he gets pulled most nights he's not factor in the game because of lack of rhythm and lack even break sweat. Last night he gets 26 plus minutes and put up 20 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. So what saying you got let guys like clinger get feel of the game so actually there helping the team to win games.
