Would have been a good night to give Kris Murray more minutes. And Scoot.
Only DB hooper sighting tonight was some advertisement. Would have rather seen him play for any of Kris, Ant, Deni, or especially Grant.

At a point we're going to have to give up on playing Grant, right? I mean I think we're well past where him being forced minutes/shots fools any GM to think he had good value. Would be better to just consider him a sunk cost and stuck him in whatever role is best for our team.

I wish. We'd have so much more clarity. I think Jerami needs a vacay soon to pickup on some European fashion.

The thing about Jerami is that I don’t see any fall off in his athleticism. Dude just can’t hit any fucking shots.
He's forcing more crap offense though, as if he's the #1 option. His D looks a bit slower too, especially with Camara or Deni always picking up the better scorers. In prior years hed guard them the most.

Can be get an "Injury"?

Him and Ant are a big problem for us. Ant just said that he thought they took better shots in the second half… I seriously wonder if that dude understands the game at all sometimes or if he just plays on instinct based on things he’s practiced. Definitely doesn’t explain anything like it actually is.

I wish Ant put as much thought into basketball as he did into that YouTuber who asked him about self fellating.

One good thing is that Scoot was the best percentage 3-point shooter for the Blazers, 2-5 , 40% , and it's not a surprise anymore.

The bad news is, the rest of the Blazers shot 5 - 30, 16 and 2/3 percent.

Some people think Scoot can't be a 20 point a night scorer. I'm betting he will on much higher efficiency than the rest of the team. HE NEEDS MORE SHOTS.

The main problem is there is a roster he is on that doesn't give him the opportunity to play the minutes he clearly deserves.

Scoot will figure out the shots fine. It's crazy that out of a guy that's been 21 for one week - I trust his shot selection 10x more than any vet of a $100 million AytonGrantAnt NBA veteran trio.

Scoot has earned more minutes. Instead - the others are being handed out entitlements.

But besides that, he's doing other things on the floor when he's not scoring. Those other guys don't (outside of Ayton rebounding).

Poll question

should I get as much joy as I am getting seeing the “we’re making the playoffs” crew whine in the game thread?

long time listener, first time caller
I did most of the whining and I’m not part of that group. I hate the NBA.

At this point, it's "do we attach the worst of 2029 1sts between MIL, POR, and BOS to get rid of him? Is that possible?

The Blazers goal should then be to recoup that value, maybe more with the added flexibility. Only why it ends up fine. Keeping him is a no go, but trading him is gonna be brutal. Cronin completely botched that situation.

I've said before, we hammer Simons for his defense but he's blocked both Scoot and Sharpe to the bench

I'd just sit his ass and tell him his job is to be 3 and D. As long as he does it well he'll get minutes. If he's missing or not playing D he'll sit.

At some point he'll be a short term or expiring contract. Maybe we can use it to buy a pick or two?

I wouldn't give up a FRP pick until we have a more certain use for cap or tax room. Right now I'd be weary Cronin would just use it to extend Ayton or Ant or such. But yeah if we ever got to where trading Grant with a pick could get us a Deni type of player then sure - go for it.
