what slot in the draft is he commonly mocked?

I think the highest I've seen is 7 or 8, but usually right around 10 or so. Second half of the lottery usually. McNeeley's in that range, too, and they're somewhat similar. Tre Johnson also fits that taller shooter type, but he usually is mocked a little higher in the draft.

BTW, Kentucky has a lot of guys like that ... Brea for one ... that don't have enough in the rest of their game to be mocked in the first or even the second sometime, but they'd be worth looking at for summer league or the Remix to see if they can fit.

One could counter that we've been without some of our better players in a lot of those games, too. People might not like Ayton, but his production is much better than Clingan, at least at this point. Clingan himself missed a game. Deni missed a couple. Grant's been out (even though the way he's played this year that might not be a bad thing). Ant missed a game. Toumani missed a game.

sure...except that the other teams were missing all-star and all-NBA players, including a 3 time MVP

We beat the team missing the 3-time MVP, though, we crushed the Grizzlies and we took the Cavs to OT on the road when they were on a winning streak and lost to the Knicks in OT on a great shot at the buzzer. Seems a bit like splitting hairs or picking the facts you want to matter and naysaying the ones you don't.

And you think this is unique to the Blazers? This time of the season, every team has injuries or rests players. All you can do is play the teams that are on the court.

That'd be a great argument if we were winning those games

I don't recall saying the Blazers were the only team that has caught some breaks, but some of Portland's were kind of noticeable

* Donovan Mitchell had played in 19 of 20 games, including 8 straight, then missed the Blazer game, then played the next 5
* SGA had played in 21 straight games, missed the Blazer game, then played the next 6
* Jalen Williams had played in 14 straight games, missed the Blazer game, then played the next 2 games before bruising his hip
* Lou Dort played in 43 straight games, missed Portland, then played the next 4
* Jayson Tatum had played 32 straight games, missed the Blazer game, then played the next 2 games and 7 of the next 8

yes, teams are banged up and those rather confident about their rosters and position are resting players. No argument

Not much of one

played the Cavs without their best player, an all star
played Boston without their best player, a 1st team all-NBA, and 2 other starters
played OKC without their best player, a 1st team all-NBA and 3 other starters including another all-star
played the Knicks without their best player, a 2nd team all-NBA
played Memphis without their best player
played Denver without their best player, a 3-time MVP

those are pretty significant breaks, even if Portland didn't capitalize on most

No! Teams are targeting the Blazers on their schedule as rest days. C’mon you know this to be true.

Blazers sure have caught some breaks in the last 3 weeks

Cleveland without Donovan Mitchell
Boston without Tatum. Jrue, Porzingis
OKC without SGA, Jalen Williams, Dort, Cason Wallace, Holmgren
Detroit without Hardaway Jr., Stewart
Knicks without Brunson
Toronto with the most blatant 4th Q tank in years
Memphis without Morant
Denver without Jokic
Boston, today, without Brown, Jrue, Porzingis

haven't capitalized very well...4-6 in those games
What about all of OUR players who missed those games?

sure...except that the other teams were missing all-star and all-NBA players, including a 3 time MVP
Some of those teams still had an All Star or championship pieces though. While we missed some of our best players.

Memphis’ best played. All Star JJJ.

Watching Scoot the past four games has been so disheartening. Tough to preach patience and not getting too high or too low but damn man.... these lows are low.

Rooting hard for the kid but tough to see him play right now.

Also.... he needs a haircut. Bring back the braids.

We should've drafted Amen ;)

so if you put Jokic on the blazers with this current roster, are we a championship contender?
You know that is a great question. Honestly I think they would be every bit as good as the Nuggets are right now with room to grow. Understand the Blazers also still have Grant and Simons with Timelord should he ever actually play a season.

Same roster and coach that won it all less than 2 years ago. If they’re not a “contender,” no team is.

Nah they lossed some guys

Plus they hit their peak and are on the way down.

they lost KCP and Bruce Brown off that title team and both players were solid rotation guys. And they were a 2nd round exit last season. And they won't have the easy path and HCA in every playoff series they had in 2023

All true but their championship core is intact. If they’re not a contender, who is? Cavs and OKC lost in the 2nd round too.
