I really don't think candidate choice is the issue here.
Unless you can somehow find a Democrat that is more of a rapist, grifter, felon, traitor, and demented ignoramous than Trump.
Apparently that's the sort of candidate our fellow Americans desire.

I disagree. If Harris wasn’t tied to Biden & had more time to campaign I think she would have won.

Kamala ran as flawless of a campaign as possible in 100 days. This has nothing to do with her. This is just a pathetic indictment of the selfishness and idiocy of much of this country

You would have voted for her if those things were true?

4 years goes by in a flash. Have faith we’ll have better in 4 years.

I’d like to have faith in things getting better, but it would mean that I would have to believe that Trump didn’t mean any of the stuff he said on the campaign trail. Dishonest Don seldom tells the truth, but I believe him when he says he’s going to round up and deport millions of people who are living here peacefully. I believe him when he says he’ll let that moron RFK Jr. do whatever he wants with vaccines. I believe him when he says he’s going to impose massive tariffs that will kill the world economy. I believe him when he says he’ll end the war in Ukraine, no doubt by forcing them to cede land to Russia or face the US pulling support for the war effort. I believe him when he says he’s going to “protect women” whether they want or agree with what that “protection” entails. I also believe Trump when he says he’s going to throw the environment under the smoking bus of the oil industry.

I don’t believe Trump when he says he knows nothing about Project 2025. The right wing loons who wrote that thing are going to be given free rein to dismantle the protections afforded by our legal system. I hate that he’s going to dance off free on all of the crimes he pulled. So no, I have zero belief things are going to get better under Trump. I think things will get so bad that eventually a sizable portion of the folks who voted for him will come to realize that they have been sold a bill of goods. Maybe at that point things can start to get better, but the light is dim and there’s a long tunnel to go through before then.

Senate is red. If he gets the house and he has the supreme Court in his pocket, this guy could do some lasting damage.

If so, they can't blame the Dems.

Yeah. There’s a lot of stupidity in this country.

They just want to go back to the glory years of the Trump presidency.

Yikes

The two times Trump won was when Hilary was forced in because of the super delegate nonsense even though the people wanted Bernie. Then, when they propped up a candidate that did awful in the 2020 primaries.

How apropos that the 2 times the guy wins is against women.

I agree with all of that except the part about the people who voted for him wising up. They never will.

And he lost against the only guy he ran against.

Yeah, you’re probably right. The irony of the electoral map is that so many of the red states are in fly-over country. As if Trump really gives a shit about losers so stupid as to live in such a wasteland.

Trump doesn't care about anyone but himself.

I don’t like Trump. I think he’s an egotistical asshole. Wish I could have voted for Vance. You all can have your opinion based on what’s important to you, but my financial situation was better under Trump. And I selfishly voted for that to return. I may be wrong, but for me it’s worth a shot. Biden/Harris has been a shit show. HOPEFULLY we get much better candidates in 4 years. I’d love a legit moderate candidate but that’s highly unlikely to happen anytime soon.
Curious what did Biden change that hurt your financial situation? I'm not asking for specifics about your financial situation, just the change in policy.

I agree with Nate that the DNC and the dems need to take a lot of blame for this. It's misogynistic as hell to say this, but with the electoral college in place, there's simply no way the US is ready to elect a woman. None. And Harris being black was an even bigger obstacle

but the Dems way too quickly coalesced behind Harris in a giddy relief that Biden was dropping out. And they forgot the lessons of 2016.

Which white man do we think would have beaten Trump in 2024, and why?

Gas was closer to $3 a gallon compared to $4 like it is now. Groceries significantly cheaper. I’m spending $400-$500 more a month on gas & groceries than I did in 2019. That’s less money I have to spend on other things that boost the economy & support local businesses.

And how do your wages compare to 2019?

Georgia has been called. Trump now at 247.

The president has no control over those though... Biden drilled more than Trump.

US inflation has been lower than the rest of the world.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. I just don't understand how you can attribute this to the president.

RFK Jr would have beaten Trump, Tulsi Gabbard would have beaten Trump, if the DNC got behind either one. But the Demorats expelled them from their party, and persecuted them into the arms of Trump.

I think it's going to take a seriously charismatic and inspiring woman to get elected. Obama, for all his faults, was just a fantastic candidate. That's not Hillary or Harris. They're too polarizing. This was not the time to roll the dice. They didn't want to be seen as racist or misogynistic by passing over her, and it was their undoing.
