That was the tipping point for me to chime in too.

Hatred begets hatred and i have little respect for those who claim others are evil and then calls people morons and say thinks like that.
Some people’s hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Its hard to listen to or take many seriously when they say the things that can be read in this thread.

“you voted for Trump? He hate women and minorities!!! He is a hater. Dont be like him! Dont be a hater!!!”

followed by….

“I hate anyone who voted for Trump… fucking idiots. No respect for them…i hope any latino gets deported who voted for him. They deserve it. Because I hate Trump. I hate. But… ”

mirror mirror……

This is what the Trump followers have been feeling for many years now. The hypocrisy of the MSM/Democrats just reach a point where enough people had had enough of it and flipped their vote to Red.

The real cherry on top is when the Democrat establishment began attacking and cheating any candidate in their own effing party who strayed outside the corporate narrative even a tiny bit. Smear campaigns rolled out and hit pieces galore. Then the third party candidates were treated the same. Shamed and targeted.

You can say what you want about Republicans, they didn’t do that same shit. Especially in such a calculated and coordinated way with the aid of the entire newsmedia machine.

The Democratic establishment slit the throats of any outsider their voters might find appealing on the way up the hill, then when they got to the top there was nobody left but Republicans for the large swaths of their abandoned voter base to run to.

The DNC and Democratic establishment as a whole are some of the most corrupt organizations in existence. Liberals and Democrats need to start actually demanding something of the party that is supposed to represent them. Right now is a really good time to start. You as voters hold all the chips while the elites lay in the gutter, make them earn your vote for next time. Nobody really wants Trump that bad. The Democrats just somehow managed to be shittier, which is a feat.

I saw on the news that there were long lines of voters at election offices yesterday. I'll never ever understand why someone would wait until the last minute/day to cast their vote. Makes no sense to me.

7hr lines in Pennsylvania, I thought I heard. Insane

I no longer believe a word, any human ever says, ever again.

I am done with the news. And very soon done with all OT sections, on all sites I frequent. I won't listen to 4 more years of that useless waste of shit ranting at the news media for his own perverse self pleasure. Nor what he plans to do to America/Americans.

I hope civil war begins soon. I won't survive 4 years of Trump. If the democrats roll over and play dead, and don't put Trump in the ground. I have no faith in this country, it's people or it's leaders. Fuck each and every single one of them.

Alaska Ranked Choice Voting is going to be repealed.

Fucking crazy that the wealthy can convince us to support this shit.

There was a No on 117 booth at the Oregon State Fair. They mentioned Alaskans' general dissatisfaction with RCV as part of their reasoning for why they opposed implementing it here.

Propaganda. There is nothing to be dissatisfied with. Unless you don't want people to be able to tell politicians what they want...

Have any of you actually looked at the numbers? People didn't come out in droves to vote for him, he actually has fewer (by 3m which still might come in) votes this time around than he did in 20. So what was different in raw numbers, Biden got 15m more votes than Harris did. Now you could say that 71m people are racist, sexist, morons (or whatever other lazy thing you want to blame) or you could look at who she is as a candidate. How did she do in the 2020 primaries ... horribly. She disappeared as VP for 3 1/2 years until the Dems forced Biden out and her in because they knew he was going to get destroyed and isn't fit to running. Not only did they not spend the last 4 years grooming her, it felt like they actively tried to hide her. Why did they choose her as a running mate in 2020, maybe it's because of her strong political ties, or maybe it was to benefit from her gender/race in the election and once that was of no longer of use, they hid her away. To the point that my wife voted for Biden/Harris last time, partially as a vote against Trump but also because she wanted to vote for a woman. About two years ago we had a conversation about 'where did Harris go, we never see her anywhere' and then it became a talking point in our house until they propped her up. Some of us tried to tell you that she wasn't connecting, that she spoke a bunch of 'word salad' that had zero nutritional value and it wasn't going to work with undecideds. Her one shining moment was the debate where it seems like she ran circles around him but it didn't help from an optics standpoint that that is the one of the few times she really sounded well spoken and it just so happened that one of her best friends runs the news division of the company that hosted the debate. I don't think she was fed anything but would it shock me based off the rest of her campaign, not in the slightest.

Now I know what you're thinking, you can't wait to blast me because Trump is a lot of the same things I've claimed Harris to being and some much worse things. I don't understand the Cult of Trump, I don't think I ever will but he strikes a cord with people, good and bad. There is no middle ground with that man, there is no apathy and that's why he gets about the same number of votes in the 3 elections. There was apathy with her, she tried to run on a platform of 'Orange Man Bad' and we need change, when her name has been on the ticket in the White House for the last four years. That was not a 'brilliant' campaign strategy. Yes we can debate how much power the VP actually has, but her trying to be the 'change' candidate was never going to resonate with those in the middle.

One interesting note, the county I live in is 95% Hispanic. Going back as long as I could find the state election results by county, it has never been a red state when it comes to the Presidential election. In some years the Democrat has won by as many as 30 points. Trump won this county. Results like this and at the House/Senate levels should tell you that people don't resonate with what the DNC is pushing.

That seems like a relatively close-minded reply. Have you spoken to any Alaskans?
I've spoken to many people who do live in areas with ranked choice voting. There is no downside unless you want the people to have less input on policy.

They weren't expelled. They chose to leave when nobody voted for them. Nobody voted for them because they suck.
If they wanted to be Republicans and to beat Trump, they should have run in the Republican primaries.

barfo

Oh no, they were expelled. When you openly accuse a candidate of being a Russian agent and put them on a terror watch list, and run coordinated smear campaigns against them, that's expelling.

I believe Tulsi Gabbard or RFK Jr would have defeated Trump, if the Democrats had gotten behind them. They'd have gotten a large block of "anyone but Trump" democrats by default, plus they have the charisma to lure many independent and populists.
But instead they sicced their wicked machine on them, and persecuted them. Driving them into the arms of Donald Trump, who accepted their endorsements with pleasure.

I keep trying to tell lefties that MAGA will persist well beyond Trump, because it was never about Trump.

Yes, this was more a matter of Harris receiving less votes than Biden in 2020 than Trump receiving more. It looks like she'll get over 10 million less votes, which is remarkable, because it's not like Biden was Mr. Charisma either.

Did those 10 million just stay home? This is causing some to re-iterate their doubt that Biden could have possibly receieved 81 million, many of which came in in the dead of night and put him over Trump.

I agree with Nate that the DNC and the dems need to take a lot of blame for this. It's misogynistic as hell to say this, but with the electoral college in place, there's simply no way the US is ready to elect a woman. None. And Harris being black was an even bigger obstacle

but the Dems way too quickly coalesced behind Harris in a giddy relief that Biden was dropping out. And they forgot the lessons of 2016.

They absolutely do need to take the blame for this and 2016. They made backroom deals to assure Clinton and Harris would essentially run unopposed within their party. They force-fed us candidates instead of allowing the voters to choose for themselves.

There is no doubt that some men (and even some women- I know a few) are not ready for a female president, but I believe the vast majority would if it was the right woman. Voters remember how poorly Kamala did during the 2020 debates. She was chosen to be VP only because she was a woman of color. Why else would Biden choose her after she essentially called him a racist during the debates?

We just gave Donald Trump a second term as president of the United States. The DNC and Democratic party has failed us.

You (Dems) lost to Donald Fucking Trump. Twice. If you don't think the DNC needs to change then you are a part of the reason we have Donald Trump as president.

America is a joke. Never want to hear “best country in the world!” again. We are not. We have shit healthcare, treat women like shit, treat minorities like shit, have a felon who is BFFs with Epstein and mocks, insults and lies on a daily goddamn basis. We are pathetic.

This isn't about people supporting Trump.

Trump lost almost 3 million votes from his 2020 total (or came out even at best by the time all votes are counted) and Dems lost nearly 15 million.

I'm mildly surprised at the election result but I never predict them...I hope for results but I've rarely seen my candidate win the presidency. Harris did much worse than I thought she would. A black woman from California will have a tough time winning a presidency under most circumstances but Harris also lost the popular vote...it's a sad day in American history. The fact that a convicted felon, compulsive liar and sexual predator could win this election tells me America is not so great right now. It's hard to trust the judgement of the people when integrity is no longer a factor in choosing leaders.

couldnt agree more..the candidate, and message needs to be right.

Looking forward to finally seeing what trumps healthcare plan is. He has claimed for 8 years he would replace the aca with something better but hasn't shared what that is.

If he removes the ban on the lifetime benefit limit it's pretty obvious he lied and didn't have anything better.

He has no plan.

Very sad day day indeed. Maybe a day of reckoning.

Dems lost plenty of ground but you're jumping the gun a little on the numbers

California-Washington-Oregon-Illinois-NY-Maryland-Mass still have about 10M votes to count; maybe more. Harris will probably end up around 72M, give or take a M

that's still a big drop from Biden though

With Trump the Rapist being 2-0 vs women, it begs the question, does America hate women more than they hate rapists?

This is a country where one in five women are raped before graduating from college. I’d say the pro-rape vote is much larger than we are willing to admit.

...I wonder how much of this could be attributed to all the voter suppression measures they inacted across the country? :dunno:
