Event 2024 NBA DRAFT - JUNE 26 & June 27 2024 - WEDNESDAY 5:30 PM PST & THURSDAY - 1 PM PST - ABC & ESPN (1 Viewer)

So far I think we've crushed the draft...the Wizards trade was a steal..we got that Nic Batum swiss army knife guy. I also like the 7'1 kid Clingan from UConn...he's going to give us a better bench

If two teams have an agreement on a trade that involves the draft, is there any reason it wouldn't already be announced? If a vet is involved, would contract guarantees or anything else affect a teams ability to announce it?

For my money, the Knicks (Villanova North) have won the offseason. Gave away a boat load, but got Bridges. Then got two of my favorite wings in Dadiet and George. The absolute worst part of this will be listening to Stephen A Smith's loud mouth when they win.

I honestly think that we probably have a few trades lined up for Ant and Jerami that will happen after the first day of free agency depending on where the marquee free agents end up. They just weren't mentioned when Joe gave his exit interview and again today they weren't mentioned. I think it was pretty clear that we will be holding onto Deandre or at the very least Joe wasn't trying to kill his trade value by saying that we want to move him.

Joe wanted something different. He got it. It's no longer a 6'7" and under team.

And that's why tomorrow we'll only be taking guys over 6'10". I know what you're thinking. Are there even two guys that are over 6'10" left in the pool of players that make sense inside of 40? The answer is, you're damn right there are. So we'll be getting Kyle Filipowski at 34, we saw what happened at pick 6 when the Grizz tried to take what we wanted, we told them to step the fuck off and they did. Then we'll take Chomche at 40. If anyone tries to take our guys, Joe showed us today that he knows how to handle that sort of thing.

Seriously though that was some weird shit. One second we definitely weren't getting the dude that all of the reporters had been saying we wanted since the lotto and then that trade is off and the dude falls to us. At the time I was a little disappointed because we do have a lot invested in the position that most experts have said is the least important in the league at this point but that kind of crazy thing where Memphis was jumping us to get him and then they weren't was something I've never seen.

What would you rather see

A. Bronny James throwing an alley oop to his dad

B. LBJ swatting his sons shot to China

Murray 0.3 blk
Jabari 0.3 blk
Rupert 0.1 blk

while they may be taller then 6'7", our best shot blocker is a 6'5" guard named Matisse Thybulle. Portland needs a legit defensive Center, and the ping pong gods made the choice for us.

A. I'm not a hater and I remember when I was a kid and Ken Griffey Sr and Jr got to play together on the Ms for a couple seasons. It seemed really special and I think it would be cool to see that sort of thing again.

That being said I'm a fan of LeBron's, I think he's inarguably one of the two greatest players to ever play this game and I think MJ played such a different role that it's hard to say definitively that he was better even though I have MJ at 1 and LeBron at 2.

Anyway, I think it would be really special to see LeBron and Bronny get to do what Ken and Junior did. Junior was probably the greatest positional prospect in the history of baseball at the time and Bronny doesn't have that kind of hype but I still think it would be something I'd like to see.

That is not my twitter but obviously that's the biggest thing that stood out to me as well. Joe talked about being on the phones all day and planting a lot of seeds. I really do think he probably has two or three teams lined up who have interest in Jerami and Ant and free agency (like the first day or two) will dictate where those two end up.

Chauncey need to let Deni do the playmaking to free up Simons just like Draymond and Steph.

Who do we like at 34?

There's some really interesting guys still on the board. Furphy would be interesting. I like the idea of Tyler Smith. I don't think another center makes a lot of sense, but Filipowski is certainly interesting.

Kevin McCullar or Isaiah Crawford please.

I would take Kolek if he is there for more shooting and he is a solid defender and let's be honest Scoot has not been the most durable so far so this would be a nice insurance piece too.

I know some are going to say WTF another guard but he is prolly the best player available that might not have a high ceiling but at worst he will be a TJ McConnell type and that could be a nice trade piece in the future. The problem he will be drafted in the first 3 picks or someone will trade up for him ahead of the Blazers I would almost book it cause he is NBA for the most part ready.

I understand not liking a pick, but tearing down a guy on draft night when your job is to be a draft correspondent feels really bad. Isn't part of her job talking to players as they come up the ranks? She knows a lot of these players personally. Clearly she doesn't have a relationship with Edey but makes you wonder if this will affect how well you can do your job in the future.

I’m just glad it wasn’t us. But I think Holland at 5 was a worse pick.
