that gets really difficult. First they'd have to renounce the rights to Fultz

then, after signing PG13, they'd need matching salary for Simons

I suppose it could be the Simons trade first:

that would give Orlando over 40M in space to sign PG13
Didn't ORL deny their option on Ingles? He is a free agent but rumored to working a new deal.

If the deal if Grant to the Warriors, this is what I’d want:

- ‘26 1st unprotected
- ‘28 1st top 10 protected that may or may not convey
- ‘29 GSW 2nd
- Moses Moody at a re-signed bargain deal similar to Avdija’s. If it’s something like for essentially zero players in return if it’s just CP3, and I’m totally off Wiggins at this point. I’m not out on Wiggins the player, we just have so many other wings to develop.

Moody is 6’6 in shoes. A bit short for a SF but his wingspan is like a full inch longer than Shae’s. If acquiring Moody is essentially just re-upping on his rookie deal, take it and see if we can tap into that 3-D potential.

If it may happen we'll either here it announced in a few hours or that CP3 contract deadline has been pushed back again.

Ant (18)/Scoot (30)/Deni
Shae (30)/Ant (14)/Moody (4)/Rupert
Moody (22)/Deni (8)/Kris (18)/Rupert
Deni (24)/Camara (20)/DA (4)/Walker/Kris
DA (30)/Clingan (18)/Reath

An acquired-and-extended Moses Moody would be my “FA get” of the offseason, even though he isn’t a real FA.

Avdija is the glue-guy two way forward we’ve been looking for. So that’s a check for Cronin.

Look for guys who still could have real potential left when we get rid of the vets. In Moody’s case, not everyone is born with that wingspan, and he’s a career 36% 3pt shooter despite limited attempts (3 3PA last season isn’t bad though). He isn’t going to be a playmaker, but he’s getting better at committing to a decision, and he can really attack the basket despite the subpar athleticism. He just turned 22 and has one year left on his rookie deal.

Wingspans:
Scoot - 6’9
Shae - 6’11.5
Moody - 7’0.5

We would not lacking in length, we would actually be among the longest in the league. Deni’s wingspan would be tied for the shortest with Scoot among our notable pieces, but he’s our best overall defender. Clingan’s wingspan is crazy as well.

That sounds better than what LAL can offer imho.

couple head scratchers so far:

Raptors gave Quickly a Jerami Grant contract... ouch

Why did the Wizards double down on the Richaun Holmes terrible contract?

They reworked the Holmes deal to get him the same money, but to let this first year fit in to the MLE, which work essentially as TPEs now

I have tried so many different trade ideas with GS on the ESPN Trade machine and nothing works. Not even Grant straight across for Chris Paul and their contracts are within $200,000
of one another. Do things change after July 1?

cronin and billups have the day off today. no recruitment happening.
I don't think Joe is taking the day off. I think he's active on the phones with teams that want Jerami, Ant and probably others.

think either JG or Ant are contingency plans for teams who strike out in FA. Doubt that happens tonight.
Yeah, I think Joe's comment about planting a lot of seeds on draft day was about what you're saying. I personally think it will be JG and Ant.

I'm just wondering if there's any market for Timelord. I think it's entirely too risky to play him.

So here's the Laker situation. That Windy tweet is about LeBron not eating up the entire gap between the first and second apron

How can we help the Lakers:

If I'm reading that right, we have $16 million before we hit the first apron.

I think, and I might be wrong, but I think we could do Grant for DLO/Vincent/Knecht/2029 FRP and then send them our MLE TPE for Vanderbilt, which would free up $10 million.

That puts Portland into the tax... not going to happen.

After Clingan is signed, Portland has ~$4M to work with

I think there's a scenario that Simons goes to Orlando for a little bit of their cap space/picks/filler.

Russell to the Warriors - $18 million
Klay/Grant to the Lakers - $59 million? I don't know what Klay thinks he's worth.
Rui/Vincent/Knecht/FRP to Blazers - $28 million

I think the Lakers could stay under the apron if they can send $18 million to GS and then maybe give Klay $28 million per year? That leaves $30+ million for LeBron.
