Missing Scoot is going to suck, he actually knows how to throw lobs and that was missed big time tonight.

as has been mentioned, the difference was the 1st option. Minny had Edwards....Blazers had less

* Clingan played 30 min. - Yang played 5. That leaves 13 minutes of 'small' ball....which is probably about the average amount of time the Blazers will play without either of their slow C's. Might even be less. I'm still not sure why the Blazers kept Duop and waived Jabari

* Grant was great but he looked a little gassed at the end of the game

* Jrue + Sharpe --> 29 points on 35 shots...not good

* we all knew coming into the season that the biggest Blazer flaw was shooting. That was evident in this game and especially down the stretch

You bring up a really good point. Boards are what kept us in the game but the small ball unit lost them. Miss Jabari there.

What about when the offensive players steps on your foot and shoves you.
Don't flop. Stay on your feet so you can contest the shot. That was an obvious flop, and that probably helped the ref feel better about not making the call.

Especially considering they didn't buy your last flop 2 minutes ago (in which your teammates trying to cover for you also resulted in a wide open 3).

yeah...the officials didn't decide that game. They let both teams play physical and they didn't call flops
The refs rewarded us when we were being aggressive with intent to make good plays, and didn’t when we started trying to force the refs to blow whistles. Seemed really straightforward to me.

So many blown opportunities early in the fourth to stretch the lead while Ant was out. God I am so tired of losing.

Yeah, but stars get those calls. Refs aren't making calls against a star in that situation. Unless they are being defended by a star.

That's ridiculous. Refs need to do their fucking job regardless. Exceptions should not be permitted or ok.

While I agree with you ideally, star treatment isn't something that is going to change. We need to play stand up defense in those situations not flop around hoping to be bailed out by the officials.

Stars can usually get away with one of the two fouls on that play (stepping on the opponent's foot) but I've even seen LeBron get called for pushing off late in games... maybe not playoff games but definitely regular season games.

That play will definitely be mentioned in the last two minute report of the game and no ref wants to be on that report.

LeBron is not getting a charge call in that situation while being guarded by Grant.

If he's being guarded by Durant? Maybe. But probably not if Durant is so obviously flopping repeatedly.

Also, stepping on a defender's foot is almost never called against an offensive player.

Like @THE HCP has been saying…….
-We will be better this season
-We won’t win as many games as last season. It’s not on them, the west is just too tough.

We hung and played great with a more talented/better team than us. Proud of this team the way they competed out there. Will be a fun season compared to recent years!

One thing I noticed was that they scored a fair few baskets cherry picking. Is that because of our all-out focus on getting O-Rebs? Somebody needs to be on the alert for that, though.
