I like woodworking but my last table saw was built by my late father in law from one of my skill saws. I left it in Taiwan with him when we moved back to Oregon. Now I do mostly bench work but I used to do a lot of carpentry and my best friend was a fine cabinetmaker. I know a lot of carpenters missing fingers. When I was young I studied with a luthier to learn to build mandolins and built 3 of them before I realized I'm not good enough to be a luthier. I can build a hell of a deck though. I like to build toys for the grandkids at times.well, I have a small wood shop too; and had been a contractor for nearly 40 years doing a lot of my own carpentry. I've been lucky...still have all my fingers...but I have collected some significant scars
table saws are the worst; so much torgue and blade speed and you have to push wood toward the blade. Can't daydream when using a table saw or they'll be calling you stubby
