Game Thread 2025-26 GAME #3 - BLAZERS @ CLIPPERS - SUNDAY - OCTOBER 26, 2025 - 6:00 PM - KUNP - BLAZERVISION

Welcome to our community

Is it though? To compete damn well for most of the game against a better team on the road without a go to guy or any type of shooters on this roster? I’m proud of these dudes. Have been in all three games.
I’ll say it again…..we WILL be better than last years team and be MUCH more competitive than last years team. We simply won’t win more games. West is TOO deep. That’s nothing to be ashamed of in my opinion.
I have been absolutely blown away at our defensive on the ball pressure this week. Very excited for the future for the first time in forever.

I hate agreeing with Chad, but he's absolutely right.

Sharpe's shot looks fine to me. And it's right on line. Just short or flat. Which leads ne to believe he's adjusting.

He'll be fine. Will he be a Star? Not sure. But if he stays aggressive he'll be very good.

I agree with Tiago, Shaedon is going to be fine. We've all seen him knock down shots at a much more efficient rate than he has been... it's just a slump and it's unfortunate for him it's happening at the beginning of the season.

I will say this, I don't really care about wins and losses this season. I'm just really excited with how well our guys are playing on defense and they're getting good looks on offense. It's a fun brand of basketball to watch and it should translate to winning in the future but the majority of these guys have to learn how to close out games and it's not going to happen over night.

* for the 'season' now Sharpe is shooting 20.8% on three's....but he's averaging 8 attempts a game. No other Blazer is averaging more than 6. This is backassward shot selection. Sharpe has no record of good perimeter shooting. The only thing he's established from three is this:

2022-23 - 3.5 attempts-->36.0%
2023-24 - 5.5 attempts-->33.3%
2024-25 - 6.6 attempts-->31.1%
2025-26 - 8.0 attempts-->20.8%

that's correct....the more he shoots, the worse he shoots. Coaches need to see if the trend reverses if he shoots less, a lot less. He's not some great shooter trying to climb out of a slump, unless the slump has lasted over 106 games

* Yang's token 5-6 minutes a game seem kind of pointless to me. Blazers played 20 minutes of small-ball against a team that played Zubac/Lopez 48 combined minutes. And the coach who called for that is a former NBA C. Yang is mostly unplayable. Try Duop or waive him and find a backup C the coach might have some confidence in

* Blazers have had 2 games when they shot poorly; 1 when they shot well. I suspect that's going to be normal but hope it isn't

Sharpe will score 33 next game
Hopefully.

Of course, that's what Nurk would do, too. He'd have one great game, one awful game and two mid games in every four games. You never knew when it was going to happen.

I'd be happier without the occasional 33-point game to have a Shaedon that was consistently scoring 22-23 on 18 or fewer shots with two turnovers or less per night.

Uh Oh. The voice of reality is starting to set in. I agree. They are working their asses off and they are playing tough. Who had that game as a win going in?

I do to. He's working so much harder on defense. It's affecting his shot. When he finds that balance things will settle down and some shots will fall.

He just got 19 on a bad shooting night. Yes he had 6 TO's against a very experienced team. Pretty sure i watched Dame have a few of those nights but never play that level of defense.

You know who probably would have hit shots when we needed them in the second half? Cedric Coward. Just sayin'

Clippers Postgame Brent Barry: Blazers are a fun team to watch, they play hard and plays defense but the one thing they're missing is that GO TO GUY.
If only we could ad an elite shooting “go to guy” by the start of next season. Hmmmm

they don’t have Luka or LeBron……. No problem. they got HillyBilly Kobe!

If you could merge Caruso and Reaves (both found on the scrapheap by the Lakers) you'd get the best whiteboy baller ever

Ok, what realistic trade scenarios are there (and not "hey this works with espn trader checker!" realistic either)?

To trade for him, they'd have to include a lot of younger players, or hope that the Bucks are dumb enough to take Grant as the main cog or Portlands expiring contracts (Matisse, RW3) plus a return for all their pick options.

Or they'd have to include Deni in the trade.

If they dont' want JG's huge contract (or Jrues), then it really becomes difficult. Without JG they could do Deni, Scoot, Shaedon, RW3, Murray and Rupert + picks, but why the hell would Milwaukee think that's the best they could do?

Let's say they don't want to trade Deni, change it to RW3, Tisse, Scoot, Shaedon, Murray and Rupert.

If you're the Bucks, that kind of trade excites you? An injury prone guy, a still unproven PG, a role player and still a project? Of which 3 are expiring contracts.

Not exactly enticing.

Thanks. Maybe I can stop worrying about this particular problem for awhile....:) Although that shows even more they don't trust Yang at all.

Nor should they trust him, he's a project (tho I don't think he's a long term project).

I’m sure 95% of this forum WANTED us to win that game…..not sure how many actually THOUGHT we would though.

I want them to win. And I hate when they lose. But I can see the long term benefits of their play even in losses.
