Game Thread 2025-26 GAME #42 - BLAZERS VS HAWKS - JANUARY 15, 2026 - THURSDAY - 7:00 PM - KUNP - BLAZERVISION

Sidy is a lot of fun to watch off the ball. I don’t remember another player quite like him playing for us before. He plays heavy but has really soft hands and can do some fun passes behind the back or over the shoulder. I really hope he sticks around.

Logistics of making cookies for entire board a bit daunting but any of you have open invitation to watch Blazers at my house with refreshments if you are iny neck of the woods.

That's awfully, awfully nice of you! Perhaps you and my wife could bake together so as to share the load?

That stretch from early in the 2nd thru late in the 3rd was pure torture - but the rest of the game was great. Good thing Jerami returned.
Yeah that was some real “20-22 team” basketball lol we have looked much better recently but also much worse.

I see the Love/Dame comparisons. Love has the same set of moves and the same shooting form. If Love ends up half the player Dame was, that’s lethal off the bench.

I’ll be honest, post-Achilles Dame might not be appreciably better than Caleb Love will be at the end of this season.

I am the cat who bakes by herself.
Raise your paw if you recognize source of quote.

She would probably say the same thing, haha. And I don't know the source of the quote. Hmm.

Ya notice the game threads barely crack 5 pages? I noticed this collection of blazers doesn’t connect with the city. For example Deni is gonna be the first all star since Dame and barley anybody cares

I am the cat who walks by itself
And all places are alike to me

Kipling was a horrific racist and imperialist but I have always liked The Cat Who Walked by Itself.
Ahh Rudyard Kipling, definitely not Shel Silverstein.

One thing I didn't like about the end of the game last night was that, with Shae on the floor with both Jrue and Jerami, he got stuck standing in the corner. And he just stayed there. After having been our offense for much of the game and having a chance to get 30 points.

I was optimistic with Shae being assertive at the beginning of the game even though he was teamed with Jrue. The previous games he's deferred too much, IMO, when he and Jrue are sharing the court.

Then Jrue seemed very intent on getting himself going in a scoring way. He's made a couple of very weird, un-Jrue-like plays the last couple of games. He passed up that uncontested layup against the Warriors that would have cut the deficit to 10 -- even the Warriors announcers kept coming back to that the rest of the night as a puzzling decision. Last night, there were a couple more, but the one that really stood out to me was when we were coming down I think in secondary transition and he just tried to jack up a no-jump 3 with a defender right there and got it blocked.

What city are you referring to?

So I guess you voted for him almost every day for the All-Star Game like the rest of us?

Another solid win, no Deni but others step up, nice to see Jrue and Grant back. Our bench guys have gotten a lot of minutes this year and it has paid off, even Rupes starting to show some stuff. I think our coaching staff deserves credit for keeping this team playing hard and IMO playing significantly better than expected given all the injuries,

Besides the turnovers Sharpe had a really nice game while going against one of the best defenders in the NBA. He was also being doubled every time we brought someone to give Sharpe a screen. As PC mentioned kind of weird they knew what was going to happen maybe because it created open opportunities for teammates they were ok with Sharpe being doubled. It makes the game easier for his teammates because defense is left scrambling to cover open players. He made the right decisions and his turnovers were mostly him losing control of the ball in traffic which has always been his Achilles heel. Great to see him rebounding and good assist numbers.

Kind of surprised we haven’t seen Sharpe go for 40 yet this year.

Just wish he wasn’t out on the court at the end of the game when we were up big. Need to limit his minutes as much as possible.

The game day threads don’t even crack 5 pages lol
I think it's just a matter of people engaging less on this platform. The crowd sounds loud at the games. We still haven't made the playoffs in like 5 years and I think there will be even more excitement if that happens this season or more likely next.

Then there's the fact that you aren't on here shitting on the team every other post.
