We did.Wish we drafted Cedric Coward
Yeah I really like Caleb but with Scoot looking good, Love is less necessary for now. It’s Wesley’s spot to lose. Here is a very thorough statistical breakdown between Love and Wesley (keep scrolling and scrolling....). Caleb a little better on offense, but Wesley a lot better on defense and a better playmaker (although he turns the ball over at a higher percent). The only thing about Love is sometimes when he is cooking he can almost take a game over, but i guess Delano Banton would have stretches like that also.
Dare you to play that game with Grant. He’s on the floor every single time he shoots the ball and most the time he has the ball he ends up on the floorA fun new drinking game is to take a shot every time Yang falls down.
I'd honestly rather have Trendon Watford than Yang.Wish we drafted Cedric Coward
I still say Yang will be fine he just needs time. If you wanted immediate help your right wrong pick if you want best player I still say he’s going to be good but it’s 2 years from nowI'd honestly rather have Trendon Watford than Yang.
And the worst part is, even if we wanted a center, there are, no exaggeration, at least 5 taken after Yang that are better, and look like staying that way.

I am nothing if not traditional.A Blazers fan tradition. Judging a young player as if he will not improve.
...and in the CBA.I still say Yang will be fine he just needs time. If you wanted immediate help your right wrong pick if you want best player I still say he’s going to be good but it’s 2 years from now
when Clingan played his first game as a rookie he started to show he would be good 2 weeks from then; and in his 13th game in the NBA, Clingan had 17 pts, 12reb, and 8 blks.I still say Yang will be fine he just needs time. Maybe we shall see...and in the CBA.

The thing is, Clingan in his first NBA game was only 4 months older than Yang in his first game. Really no significant difference in ages at all
more than that though is that Clingan came into the league having played 1,299 minutes in 74 games over 2 years at UConn. Meanwhile Yang came in having played 3,530 minutes in 106 games over 2 years in the professional CBA. While Clingan was averaging 17.5 minutes, Yang was averaging 33.3 minutes. Yang had over 2231 more minutes to work on his skills and craft in game situations than Clingan did. For every minute of experience Clingan had, Yang had 2.7 minutes
and we are seeing the results of all that extra time Yang had for development over Clingan. And yet, he's still 2 years away? Away from what?
Nice post game interview with Deni. He feels he is mostly back physically, just winded some, and might still sit out some back to backs. He seems to enjoy being asked (and answering) a question in Hebrew. It's really a different team when he is out there.
ok....but I think people are really overrating the level of competition Clingan faced vs what Yang faced. I'm not saying they were comparable, just that the overall gap wasn't as wide as people assume. When Clingan was at UConn, there were some of the teams he faced:Again I stick by my claim he’s 2 years away from being legit NBA center. Yes he’s behind he’s from another country never played college basketball and is still learning English. I very well could be wrong mind you that doesn’t happen very often, lol. Clingan played at UConn against NBA level talent for two years while YH has barely had a few months. He was a project when he was drafted which was less than a year ago give him time.
Yang is now what Scoot was in his rookie year.A Blazers fan tradition. Judging a young player as if he will not improve.
God that first run of games was hard to watchYang is now what Scoot was in his rookie year.
Agreed. Plus, Clingan had good coaching in two years of college. Did Yang have good coaching? I honestly have no idea. The comparison of Yang and Clingon is meaningless.
Different players develop differently.
One thing that is an obvious is that when Yang is on the floor he is not at all being used to his strength. For some reason he is on the three-point line shooting three-pointers.
He has already shown that he can be capable near the hoop and as a passer to cutters so why isn't he used that way?
Summer league Scoot (the minutes he played) and rookie year Scoot was the same thing. The disparity between summer league Hansen and regular season Hansen is mind boggling.
He seemed competent and skilled against inferior competition and looks completely lost now. His garbage time minutes yesterday were absolutely brutal. Getting blocked, committing fouls, missing all of his threes. Even that shot he made should have been called a charge against him.
I hope the summer league Hansen makes an appearance at some point. Hopefully it’s not just the Caleb Swanigan effect.
no, it's not meaningless at allThe comparison of Yang and Clingon is meaningless.
That's a difficult question. Minnesota has been struggling a little bit lately while Utah may be vastly improved after adding Jaren Jackson. So which of the next two games should he sit out? I say play him in the game; we have the best chance to win. We need to at least split these next two road games.
