Huh? His assist to turnover rate has been quite good outside of this game?
no

in 4 games, he has 22 assists vs 18 to's. That's an average of 5.5 vs 4.5; meaning an assist/turnover rate of 1.22. That's terrible for a PG. That ratio needs to be well over 2.0.

his career mark is 1.70; and last season it was 1.89 so he was making enough progress to say he was approaching where he needed to be. So, this setback may be just a blip from 9 months of not playing

he's shooting well; at least he is so far and that's encouraging

Before the game it was 1.5 - Not great, but you'll take a 2 to 1 ratio. It's the same people begging for Jrue to be traded 2 games after missing so many games. Scoot hasn't played in nearly a year. Of course there will be flaws. We used to complain about his offensive efficiency and he's surpassing expectations there.

The Blazers players (especially Toumani, Deni, and Sidy if he gets signed) need to learn to play with the reffing, not against it. The refs don't like calling offensive fouls on the home team, especially in the first half, especially if the home team a bit of an underdog. It's makes for a bad entertainment product for the arena crowd, sets them against the refs. Doesn't matter if it's correct or rules-as-written. Refs are enforcing a style of play. We need to stop complaining to the refs when they dictate a style of play. That's how this league is reffed. We need to work with them more.

We got more calls in the second half, but only after we showed the refs we were working for the points. You don't win by drawing fouls. You win by playing your game and trying to score points. Drawing offensive fouls is thus always going to be tricky. You can't be showing up the refs when you do it. You can't be looking for calls while you're up in the first quarter. Keep that for the second half.

We need to be more crafty, is what I'm saying. You can't be doing that in the first quarter on the road. Save it for when you need it, for when you've otherwise earned the call by playing hard, and playing through the opposition first.

That's something Tiago should be talking to the whole team about. Going for the foul over the shit is just an indolent approach to the game. It reflects poorly, not only with refs who refuse to call it, but on the team. It cost points, games, and its just bad basketball.

I hate seeing it. Guys like Grant flopping like crazy and throwing the ball in the air in some random direction that has no chance at going in.

One should always go for the shot first. If you get the foul great. If you don't, oh well. Also tired of the complaining. Like Deni always stopping to jar with the refs and leaving opponents free fast break opportunities.
