The Blazers players (especially Toumani, Deni, and Sidy if he gets signed) need to learn to play with the reffing, not against it. The refs don't like calling offensive fouls on the home team, especially in the first half, especially if the home team a bit of an underdog. It's makes for a bad entertainment product for the arena crowd, sets them against the refs. Doesn't matter if it's correct or rules-as-written. Refs are enforcing a style of play. We need to stop complaining to the refs when they dictate a style of play. That's how this league is reffed. We need to work with them more.
We got more calls in the second half, but only after we showed the refs we were working for the points. You don't win by drawing fouls. You win by playing your game and trying to score points. Drawing offensive fouls is thus always going to be tricky. You can't be showing up the refs when you do it. You can't be looking for calls while you're up in the first quarter. Keep that for the second half.
We need to be more crafty, is what I'm saying. You can't be doing that in the first quarter on the road. Save it for when you need it, for when you've otherwise earned the call by playing hard, and playing through the opposition first.
