Game Thread 2025-26 GAME #60 - BLAZERS @ BULLS - FEBRUARY 26, 2026 - THURSDAY - 5:00 PM - KUNP - BLAZERVISION

Only Grant among the starters had a positive plus minus. Holiday, Murray and Scoot went 0 for 17 on threes. Williams, Wesley, Thybull and and krejci all made very positive contributions.

The only frustrating part of the game for me was watching how well Thybulle and Williams looked. Both injury-plagued players who will be free agents.
How much do you offer these guys?

Kind of depends on the other moves the Blazers make, if we make the playoffs (so no draft pick on our cap), and any salary we cut or tack on in trades at the draft.

Timelord I'd possibly offer a ton on a one year deal, hell I'd consider up to $20 million. He's been awesome when playing but had two other years of nearly zero games.

Thybulle is more replaceable with other wings we have or can get so I wouldn't go as high - maybe $10 million max if we have the salary space after Timelord.

I wouldn't give these guys a second or third year though. One year deal its better to overpay them but not have the risk of a bad multi year contract. Could easily see either guy having a year end injury that goes into the next season and destroys their trade value.

If they want a multi year deal I'm not even sure I want to guarantee Timelord $10 million or Thybulle 5 million the following 2027-28 season. Just think it makes much more sense for both sides to do one year deal or nonguaranteed on final years but greatly overpay them that first season.

Now if the Blazers do some trade for a star and have luxury tax or apron issues maybe it changes things. Then possibly you offer Timelord a multi year deal to keep the team salary lower in the first year and avoid the apron. I'm assuming the Blazers aren't going to acquire Giannis or another allstar but if it happens and the aprons are a concern yes that could impact Timelord/Thybulle/etc.

Good win by the Blazers but a bit concerning against a bad team on a 10 game losing streak. We were basically even with them in the first half then almost choked the lead away at the end.

Nice to have lessons to learn from in a win though.

We have a great opportunity to go on a run the last ~20 games here of the season as a lot of teams are tanking, resting guys, or at the end might lock up playoff position. We could legit win 70% of our games even not playing great. Locking up that #8 seed would give us TWO chances to win a playin game and make the playoffs so that would be a great goal. We'll need to play better than last nigh though. Hopefully Clingan/Deni get healthy as well and nobody else gets hurt.

If the Blazers are in the playoffs does Dame walk through the tunnel? I'm thinking he waits until we at least win a game, but if we have a chance to make a series competitive I do think he will come back. Don't think he will come back if it looks like were getting swept or not even close.

A win on the road is a won on the road. No such thing as a concerning win. Flew 3.5 hours 2 hour time difference. A lot of factors on the road people don’t think of. A win is a win.
Just wait til Charlotte the game tips off at 10am Portland time. How do you think that game is going to go. Quite sure most if not all of this forum would take a W in that one regardless of how they get it.

Don't disagree with any of that. But its also why we can't read too much into wins in Portland as often the opponent has those factors working against them.

One thing I love about the playoffs is all the teams are totally rested and no travel/rest disadvantage. The NBA would be so much better if they had less games, no back to backs, no travel in evenings after games. Would love to have ~50 or whatever games but all them super intense. Instead the current setup we have dozens of games a season one team is not able to go all out to try and win.

Yeah, 13-3 over the last 16 games. Hopefully they can keep it close and win down the stretch.

I’m not sure I would say a tip off vs Golden State in their gym after a 7 game series and OT game 7 vs the Nuggets in Denver 36 hours later is totally rested. NBA had no business scheduling a playoff game like that.

Williams I think hasn't missed a game this season that he wasn't scheduled to miss.

All the missed games were back-to-backs, except December 7th and December 11th. (He did play on December 5th and December 14th).

(Edit: He also missed February 24th, while playing on Feb 22nd and Feb 26th).

Your right that game 1 can have a team with a rest disadvantage. But thats kind of the benefit to being a higher seed or winning a series early. Still its never a back to back. All the following games have the teams even.

I’m just being a grumpy Blazer fan. Yes take care of business early and they get more rest. But still I feel that was a crappy turn. They should have had at least 48 hours.
