Game Thread 2025-26 GAME #65 BLAZERS VS PACERS - MARCH 8, 2026 - SUNDAY - 6:00 PM - KUNP - BLAZERVISION (5 Viewers)

Fun game! Took my 3 and 6 year old boys to the game and it was their first game. Also took my parents. Before the game, I told my Dad (who was a die-hard Blazers fan during the early 80s - Roy era) that Scoot has been such a bust and then to my surprise he has a great game. I have my doubts he will follow it up with more solid and consistent performances but he sure looked solid tonight.

My grandsons are 3 and 6 and I took them to their first Ducks basketball game last year..good times!

I’d like to see Scoot do this well against NBA competition, but tonight was promising.

So nice to see Scoot have a game like this, he needed it badly. Hopefully he has turned the corner and will build on this. It's only one game but it shows what he can do, now lets see him keep it going! Also, besides the good shooting I was very glad to see ZERO turnovers

that driving layup he had on Huff was a thing of beauty. Blew past him and kept separation with his body and extended his right hand so he wouldn’t get blocked. He also seems to be dunking more often than how he started. I hope he can build off of this.

Granted, the Pacers are struggling, but it's not like Nembhard, Nesmith, Siakam, Walker, McConnell, Sheppard, and Toppin are G League players. They all have playoff experience.

Don’t take anything from Scoot’s game last night. Not a thing. Just like you don’t take much from a shitty game of his lately. It is what it is…..some people take longer to develop. UPS and downs…..it’s the name of the game. If you assume his next game will look the same, and when it doesn’t and you choose to freak out on here about it, that’s on you.
Dude works his ass off, has a great attitude…… he’ll get there.

Curious if Deni’s return had an effect/affect on Scoot having a fantastic game?
A player out there with Scoot that kept the defenses honest and not allowing them to sag on him like they did this past road trip?

I don’t know. You’re the insider here.

Part of being a professional is being consistent. He ain’t 23 yet so I’m not judging him like a professional yet but consistency is something he needs to work on.

Part of being a STAR is being consistent. How many of the 450+ professional players in the NBA are “consistent” in a positive way?

Fine then, if Scoot isn’t trying to become a STAR then both he and Cronin should be fired immediately. I want him working to become more consistent.

What would make you think he ISN’T working to become more consistent? He is easily one of the hardest workers on the roster.

There is no “fine then” about it. Dude is young, still earning the game and was super hyped up when he came in. If at this point you/fans are still all worked up and angry towards him simply for not living up to the hype, that’s on you guys. Kid works his ass off…..great work ethic and attitude and fans should once again, tone down those hall of fame expectations. Kid is a damn good player who is still growing.

Or continue expecting all star numbers night in and night out and continue to be frustrated and upset about it.
I truly believe when he has talent around him, he plays better. When he has the opposing teams defense focusing on him, he’s gonna struggle.

The kid worked his ass off all summer. Those who watched him were excited about his progress. Then he tears his hamstring and has only been back for 12 games. You are being extremely unrealistic about him jumping right in and being consistent. It's not like he is a wing player camping out on the 3 pt line who is just focused on one thing.

Nobody gets brownie points for working their ass off all summer; they get paid to work all year round. That is the competitiveness of the league.

I’m sick of seeing him lose the dribble off the side of his own foot. I’m tired of seeing shots clang off the backboard without even grazing the rim. Half the time he looks like a junior high player out there. I just want more consistency to get him up to the level of inconsistency other 22 year olds have.

I’m allowed to be skeptical about him; I fell for the Telfair hype. I’m not doing that again.

Who says he does not work his ass off all year round? My point was that his injury set him back, and he has only been back for 12 games.

I certainly didn’t say it either. I’m just not giving him bonus points for it either.

I’ll back off; he’s obviously precious to a lot of posters, and while my opinions don’t feel negative in my own mind, they are not making me any friends here. Get along to get along. I’m rooting for him, in my own way.
