Did we choose to move on from Dame, or did Dame choose to move on? I think the idea was for him to play behind Dame in a 3 guard rotation with Shae.

Curious if Deni’s return had an effect/affect on Scoot having a fantastic game?
A player out there with Scoot that kept the defenses honest and not allowing them to sag on him like they did this past road trip?
From what I saw, RWIII was looking for Scoot a bunch, really seemed to be intent on getting him clean open shots more than a couple of times.I didnt check the number but by watching the game I feel they only played a few minutes together.
A junior high player?Nobody gets brownie points for working their ass off all summer; they get paid to work all year round. That is the competitiveness of the league.
I’m sick of seeing him lose the dribble off the side of his own foot. I’m tired of seeing shots clang off the backboard without even grazing the rim. Half the time he looks like a junior high player out there. I just want more consistency to get him up to the level of inconsistency other 22 year olds have.
I’m allowed to be skeptical about him; I fell for the Telfair hype. I’m not doing that again.

I’m saying I didn’t see Deni and Scoot in much at all, but I did see RWIII trying to get Scoot going (and succeeding).I meant Deni and Scoot.
A junior high player?
Sorry Telfair is still hurting you so much but it’s not Scoot Henderson’s fault.
You heard the man, just put me on ignore. Leave me alone.I use the ignore feature extensively. Sometimes, I have literally had threads that had more ignored comments, than readable ones. I know this, because once or twice a year...I unignore everyone. It takes about two weeks before I have almost all of them silenced again because of their same negative takes.
I get excited when SS, Scoot, Murray, Blake, Hansen, etc do good things...and I feel excited as I patiently watch their development. It's very rewarding while they grow and I am having as fun of an NBA season as I have ever had. Seriously. Last night was so fucking cool.
I am in control of my expectations....and I see a whole lot of happy NBA times coming up.
This Blazers group is a rare band of friends. As close as I have ever seen in my lifetime. They are not the best Blazers when it comes to wins and stats.....but they sit on the apex of character and friendship. That means a whole lot to me....and one of the main reasons I use the ignore list. I dont like reading the hard takes about these guys, cuz their like family to me.
Anyway, I hope that everyone that posts here is able to get what they came here for...and achieve that without harming the experience for others. We may want or need different things by coming here, but maybe we can get those things without costing anyone else.
Granted, the Pacers are struggling, but it's not like Nembhard, Nesmith, Siakam, Walker, McConnell, Sheppard, and Toppin are G League players. They all have playoff experience.
I like your takes I just thought that was a bit brutal. You heard the man, just put me on ignore. Leave me alone.
Yeah, losingand NBA Finals experience.
This is a good point; we’d probably only have 15 wins without Deni this year, though I do think they’re also tanking.Granted, the Pacers are struggling, but it's not like Nembhard, Nesmith, Siakam, Walker, McConnell, Sheppard, and Toppin are G League players. They all have playoff experience.

That’s on you. Telfair never showed what Scoot has shown throughout his career.Nobody gets brownie points for working their ass off all summer; they get paid to work all year round. That is the competitiveness of the league.

What about Simons?Did we choose to move on from Dame, or did Dame choose to move on? I think the idea was for him to play behind Dame in a 3 guard rotation with Shae.
Jesus Christ all I’m saying is I want him to focus on playing within himself! This shouldn’t be a controversial take! Accepting 25% from three and bouncing the ball of his foot shouldn’t be the cost of admission to the Scoot Henderson show! That’s on you. Telfair never showed what Scoot has shown throughout his career.
I didn’t. Not from an inexperienced teen.We didn't draft him at #3 (and choose to move on from Dame) with the intention of him being just a low level NBA player. It's reasonable to expect better.

an idea Dame had pretty clearly dismissed well before the draftDid we choose to move on from Dame, or did Dame choose to move on? I think the idea was for him to play behind Dame in a 3 guard rotation with Shae.
I don’t think anybody wants you to NOT share your take on him. I’m a bit confused but some of your critiques though to be honest. “FOCUS ON PLAYING WITHIN HIMSELF”Jesus Christ all I’m saying is I want him to focus on playing within himself! This shouldn’t be a controversial take! Accepting 25% from three and bouncing the ball of his foot shouldn’t be the cost of admission to the Scoot Henderson show!
I’m sorry I kicked a hornet’s nest; it wasn’t my intent. I will shut up about Scoot.
an idea Dame had pretty clearly dismissed well before the draft
I think Cronin was pretty much engineering Dame's trade request by picking a PG. You don't invest a 3rd pick in a multi-year backupY
that's simply not accurate...at allI think before that draft, no one at 3 was considered an obvious starter. Sure, the Thompson twins ended up being starters, but as I recall, everyone viewed Wemby and Miller as the only obvious choices. That draft was not deep. They were going BPA in that draft.

Does it make any difference? You said, "You don't invest a 3rd pick in a multi-year backup."that's simply not accurate...at all
I remember one narrative was that "Scoot would be the #1 pick in a normal draft that didn't have a Wemby". He was compared, repeatedly, to fast athletic PG's like Derrick Rose, Westbrook, and Morant. Those were national takes, not just views in this forum
just googled his pre-draft evaluation:
this revisionism of his pre-draft history around here, which essentially excuses how disappointing he has been to this point in his career, both as a player and as a 3rd pick, isn't a credible narrative for anybody with an average memory

What in the name of sweet baby Jesus does that mean?
He's a young PG, there's going to be growing pains, especially when shaking off rust from not playing. I agree his turnovers need to be improved, but that goes for the rest of the team as well, including Jrue. Being last in the league in that category should be unacceptable. What I mean is he needs to stop trying to do things in-game he cannot do well until he has practiced them enough to do them well. He wants to turn on a dime and do a super agile zig-zag drive to the hoop, but because he actually can’t do that as well as he thinks, he dribbles it off the side of his foot and it careens out of bounds. Good notion, bad execution. He’s not playing within an accurate assessment of his own abilities. It’s like he’s driving but doesn’t know where his wheels are, so he bumps the curb a lot.
Some of this is rehab, but he was doing this before he was injured too.
