Going to be a crazy game

Turn it up!

I don't have a good feeling about this game. We can't expect Jrue to hit seven 3s again.
Someone off the bench needs to help out on the offensive end for the Blazers to win. And I do not see a candidate.

Hard to believe that both Sharpe and Grant are still out. I am getting really tired of all these fucking calf injuries.

I expect shenanigans. at minimum, much late-game tomfoolery.

These calf injuries lead to torn Achilles unfortunately.

" Medical professionals point to Stephen Curry's transformative impact on offensive movement patterns as a contributing factor. The proliferation of stepback and side-step 3-pointers has fundamentally altered how players stress their lower legs. "The game has definitely changed," said Dr. Scott Ellis of the Hospital of Special Surgery. "I'm a Steph Curry fan, but I think he changed the game."

In 2013-14, Curry led the league with 69 stepback 3-pointers. By 2018-19, James Harden registered 613 such attempts, representing a tenfold increase in just five years.

The NBA assembled a medical committee this summer staffed by leading surgeons and researchers to study the lower leg injury epidemic. Teams have responded by implementing significantly longer recovery protocols for calf strains. "There is a concern that calf injuries can lead to Achilles injuries, and that this is all due to incomplete rehab in the calf and favoring one leg over the other," Ferkel said. "Teams are being much more conservative in returning players back from calf injuries
."

Going tonight. My little guys 6th birthday and a young lady that has been doing cheer are accompanying me. We got decent seats. Not great but pretty good.
Should be fun. This will probably be one of the most exciting games of the year.
Hope they get a win

Go Blazers!

Yeah, I actually asked AI that question last week. In addition to what you pasted, it also said they need to start wearing high tops again.
But my prompt was geared towards Achilles rather than just the calf.

The gather and Euro step could be a factor.

Someone said: I think the simple explanation would be that players are like Ferraris now. They train too much in the weight room vs. just functional practice / conditioning. Like a finely tuned sports car, their bodies are more prone to breakdowns. When you train a muscle and create imbalance you can hurt the support muscles by putting too much strain on them. Also, players are scared to play hurt because they don't want the criticism if they're not at their best.

Somebody else said: players dont walk enough to build up the support areas and they dont drink enough milk.

there have been a lot of hamstring injuries this season too

I've read about how doctors are pointing at all these designer shoes as a problem

I hadn't considered the massive increase in step-back and side-step three's. That's new for me

Maybe if they didn't take so many steps back when doing so, it would alleviate the issue. I am joking, but damn, they travel a lot.

Awesome thread, THANKS

Makes that huge monthly membership fee I spend for this board well worth it.

Most NBA players calves I look at are non existent. Perhaps that’s a reason for it?

Sharpe isn’t out. He’s questionable. Vit too.

Betting odds very even for this game.

Big opportunity. Team that wins tonight is most likely making the playoffs. Loser likely out.

First quarter start important to set the tone of the game. Hopefully blazers will have the fire in their belly
