De'Aron Fox wants out after next season from Kings.

Kings want "win now" pieces." Simons and other player(s) for Fox, then send Fox somewhere for picks for the Blazers?

Word is Fox wants to go to San Antonio.

Someone run a trade scenario.

Probably not realistic, but :dunno:

Changed it up. I think Sac would want more and they wouldn't want to send out a pick.

I think Cronin would want more than 2 firsts if we're sending out Simons/Grant/RWIII.

We definitely get the worst value out of this. Maybe we could flip Barnes and Middleton?

I clearly should have tried harder

I think it's not bad. A lot of moving parts probably makes it hard to get done. I think we could probably flip Barnes as well. He's been pretty good for the Spurs this year and I think we could get a prospect or draft considerations for him if we took on a worse contract.

Yeah the main problem is that they don’t have many contracts to trade. Most Collins, Barnes and Johnson.

I'm not sure. The rumor over the summer was that they offered a first and we said no. Supposedly Joe wanted two firsts. So do you think that they A) didn't offer a first, B) they did and we didn't accept, or C) Grant's value has tanked so badly that we can no longer get a first for him? The Lakers are in 5th. They could make a run this year. Grant could help them. If they could get him for a FRP and filler, I don't see why they wouldn't do it.
I think Joe planted those stories in an effort to make the Lakers feel pressured to offer one pick. I don't think they ever offered one.

Apparently Fox listed us as a team he would like but it makes no sense. He’s 27 and really not the level of star that would push us over the top. I’d love to get involved in the trade though.

Yes, i think you're right; this one more realistic than the first.

Put Chris Paul in the deal to train Scoot?
I like that idea, but what if we try and steal Castle away instead? A 3-way trade sending Fox to Spurs:
Spurs get: Fox
Kings get: Ant, Paul, Rob Williams III, The other Murray
Blazers get: Castle, Collins, Huerter

Spurs get a young star guard, Kings get solid vets to round out their win now playoff roster and complete their twin set, Blazers get a big defensive guard for our guard rotation of the future Scoot-Sharpe-Castle.

Absolutely zero chance the Spurs part with Castle in a deal for Fox.

I saw that the Hawks lost Jalen for the season…here’s an opportunistic trade to keep Atlanta afloat for playoffs while they develop their other two young studs Dyson and Risacher.

Atlanta receives:
Grant
Ayton

Portland receives:
Capela (expiring)
Nance Jr (expiring)
Hunter
More small filler (Zeller, Kobe?)
Do the Hawks have their 2025 pick? Because if so, they might be content to tank again. Otherwise it's a good idea (although of course Grant is not going to help with their rebounding), except there's no way they'd take Ayton, and I very much doubt they'd give up Hunter, who is a 6MOY candidate. A smaller version would be:

I've given up hope of getting a pick or a good prospect. Now I'd just be happy with either a vet less entitled to shots/minutes or just cutting some salary.

Ayton for CJ

Grant for Middleton

Simons for Lonzon Ball

Timelord for a pick swap

Concerned that we'll have no action just as in last training camp, free agency, draft, last trade deadline, etc

I don’t understand this thinking. Giving away assets for virtually nothing doesn’t seem like a good way to build the team. I’d rather all of those guys just get tanking injuries to pad the loss column and try to make better trades over the summer.

If that’s the main asset traded then that’s not asking anything
I'm having difficulty understanding what you're trying to say here. Are you suggesting that the Spurs would value Fox more highly than Castle, and that they would benefit from a Castle+filler for Fox trade? If so, I'm simply going to have to agree to disagree.

IMO yes I’m taking the known commodity over the unknown rookie. I like and value Fox highly. Castle looks like a somewhat average prospect. I just mean, if they avoid having to shell out multiple picks by parting with Castle instead, then it would make sense.

I would love the Blazers to go after Fox but it just doesn’t fit the timeline.

I'd love to try to sell Simons to S.A. as a cheaper fox alternative. Younger, much better shooter. Not the same scorer and playmaker but still can go off. Would also come much cheaper than Fox

Agreed. I originally thought SAS would be a good Ant candidate. Fox/Trae are worth their wait just no one tell them. Sell them ours

Yeah, but they gave Vassell a bigger contract than we gave Ant. I don't think they need both.

Fox will not be a Spur without Castle and picks going to Sac, IMO. Fox has another year on his deal after this. Spurs can be smart and speed up their contending timeline with Wemby/Fox or hope Castle becomes Fox. I was never personally high on Castle. Sac in no hurry. No need to take on trash or sell Fox for pennies on the dollar. Off season not too far away to assess roster and make trades.

Interesting comparison

They're pretty similar. Simons is younger and most likely will be cheaper when his contract is up.

Fuck off because every trade scenario in every thread in this joint is unrealistic.

Are you of the opinion that every trade scenario that doesn't actually come to fruition is inherently unrealistic?
