I'm sure glad that game didn't count because that loss would have been pretty infuriating. Jerami not leading Shae when he was going so fast downhill on our second to last play of the game was a rookie move from an eleven year vet.

Jerami had a great game but really couldn't come through in the clutch. Shaedon had a good game for his three ball not falling. Jrue is really sollid. I'm worried about Deni but maybe he was just a little sore and we held him out because it was the preseason.

The next one counts. I'm excited for the regular season!!!

I will say that the refs called a tight game and called it even tighter on us than the Jazz. The refs weren't the most disappointing part of that equation though, it was our team's inability to adjust to them calling every ticky tack little bit of contact.

The Jazz adjusted on D and started selling shit that shouldn't have been called on O.

I get it that we're kind of young but the fact that we didn't start at least taking advantage of the whistles on offense is kind of worrying for me. We can be a grind it out defense, run and gun offense team but we still have to have our guys play smart.

Just finished the first half. Not looking at any stats, just going off what I saw.
Jrue is the EXACT guard that should have been playing next to Dame the past 6 years or so.

Deni and Jrue play very well off each other out there. VERY impressed how they worked together.

I’ve never seen JG play on the ball defense as well as he did in the first half. I always remember our coaches growing up talking about how defense and hustle are contagious!

Caleb Love does every play like he thinks he's trying to put something in a highlight reel.

Simple chest pass for a layup? Nah, got to do some unnecessary lookaway thing that flies into the second row.

Take the easy bunny? No, let's fire up a stepback 3.

Grab the loose ball with two hands, set your feet and then take it up court? Huh-uh, gonna take some kind of giant bounce and go flying into somebody's lap.

Which is probably why if you want to see him actually step onto a basketball court, you’ll have to head out to The Bluff!

I know we didn't have Avdija or Toumani but Utah played 3rd stringers in the fourth while we were playing to win, but still lost?

Which is why we will win about 32 games this season FAMS.

We have 8 good NBA players.

3 on the IR (Dame, Rob, Thybulle)

And 2 who should not be on a NBA roster (Rupert & Reath)

2 who should be 14/15 type bench players that should NOT be getting minutes... but they will (Murray & Wesley) [Im still trying to decide if Wesley has a chance to stick in the league]

Siddy can join the Murray/Wesley group of guys who should not be getting minutes.

Love and Cooke can join the non-NBA player list

So realistically, we can only go ~8 guys deep

Well, I kinda wish I'd just watched the first half of the first preseason game, because I'd be a lot more pumped for the season than I am now. The bad thing is we need Scoot to be good. The good thing is we can blame our mediocrity on lack of Scoot, at least until he comes back and disappoints us.

I've never seen you post commentary on a game, well done! Jrue Dame Deni Camara together should be amazing.

We are OK depthwise defensively, but certainly not offensively, despite last night.
I think we can go 10 deep if healthy.

After that, it leaves Williams (who is never healthy but who is good), Duop, Wesley, Siddy, and Rupert.

Great way to put it, and like I’ve said in the past, I’m not an AYTON fan at all. But to say we are better off at the center position without him because of some eff% number thing……ridiculous. We are going to get destroyed in the paint all season. Now if we acknowledge that we simply want to give our two young bigs experience and time on the court and don’t care about the production level of those 2, then yes I can accept that.

I think that may vary from game-to-game but I think that will primarily be one of Grant, Holiday, or Scoot.

Yeah, I am hoping for either Jrue or Scoot to have a "decent" game each night and either Grant or Tou.

I agree with you that Shaedon and Deni will be good first and second options, interchangeably. After that you'll have Jrue who was the third leading scorer on the NBA champion the season before last, Jerami who if reverting back to the season before last has plenty of scoring to be the third best scorer on a playoff team and Scoot who I think could as soon as this season be as good of a scorer as any of the previous four guys.

I have been critical every year of Joe's roster building but this year it seems pretty solid. We are a little inexperienced at the 5 but I think by midseason Yang could be a good backup and Clingan could be a better starter... if we ever had a healthy Time Lord and Tisse we'd actually be stacked at every position.
