Also, after watching the video of Dame giving him pointers, he's most definitely taller than Dame. And Lillard wasn't wearing sandals this time.

To be fair, Dame is shorter than his listed height. Simons looks about Cjs height

Simons can score, and did so in a summer league setting with players bigger and stronger than he is. It's a very good first sign.

However......
He did have zero assists. So, step 1 complete, but there is still work to do. I didn't watch the game. Did he play SG or PG?

I went to summer league in 2009, Curry's rookie year. My wife legit asked me why they were letting "that little 12 year old boy" out on the court. She wasn't joking either and if I didn't know Curry I might have thought the same thing because he looked so tiny out there.

We are stuck with McCollum till his contract ends. He is our new Meyers Leonard.

The crazy thing is, I suspect that Meyers would be a better and more effective basketball player if he was the same size as CJ. He played guard until he got his growth spurt. His brain never grew into his 7-foot height.

Usually that's the making of an amazing talent, AD, KD, amongst many others who played guard then "grew up" and had the guard skillset to go with it.

It’s that brain growth thing (or the lack thereof).
For an NBA player Meyers looks so uncomfortable on the basketball court that sometimes it makes me cringe. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone brain lock that hard playing basketball.
For the record I don’t hate the guy, I’d never boo my own player when he comes into a game and I would have loved to see him succeed... I just don’t think he’s a good basketball player. Seems like an “ok” guy and seems to work hard, but basketball doesn’t really seem to be his thing, he’s just a big athletic guy.

It's still down where, uh, his stomach is now?

It wasn't his height that gave that impression. He had a light bulb-shaped head, and a baby face in the early years till he grew what little facial hair he could. Looked like a poet.

He’s a good guy and impossible for me to root against, but he needs an upgrade to his basketball processor. His works at the equivalent speed of an old Atari game system as compared with today’s computing speeds.

As a nerd I approve of this message heh.

I think you're on to something...Charles Dickens had that same blank expression..they both probably needed spectacles

Smooth, nice shot, good feel, nice floater.. he showed all that today.

I agree, "smooth" is probably the best word to describe how he played today. He never seemed out of control, but it's not like he was just in a shell all game long either. It probably helped that he came off the bench and didn't have pressure to be the top scoring threat though. The same pressure that makes guys like Collins and Layman look like shit.

What’s funny is I was able to watch the game today and he reminds me of someone. I couldn’t place I at first. But he looked stoned. Then I realized he reminded me of smooth sleepy Sam Perkins. Not his game. His face and demeanor. He might have ice enough in his veins too keep him chill in very intense moments. I like it.

Brandon Ingram/Jeremy Lamb perma-stoned face.

They are playing assassin's creed and he is playing pong.

I think his legacy, or a part of it anyway, will end up being what if Kim Hughes hadn't been fired? They had a good relationship and he seemed to coax some real improvement from him. Meyers is basically the same player since Hughes left...sorta flatlined.
