2nd best thing that could have happened

I don't think so...most can't (without looking up) tell you how the series went with HOU except "0.9". We lost our first home game there, too.

(Granted, we'd taken 2 in HOU, but still... :) )
Actually that is pretty much my point. Blazer fans talk about 0.9 seconds. Houston fans talk about losing home court. But in the fun of it all i should have used the Green Font.

No that's wrong. He stated a good point. Yes, it's a frustrating loss, especially since many of us, me included, feel this team is made of the right stuff. But they have the players to right the ship, and now know, they don't have the ability to rest on their laurels. They have to focus, hunker down, and take it to the Pels. This team is talented enough to sweep the Pels in Nawlins. It was a wakeup call.
So you are defending the team by saying it’s a wake up call... this team needed a wake up call for game 1 of the playoffs at home??? After almost losing home court by dropping 4 of 5 to eand season they need another wake up call in game 1 of playoffs???

It sucks the Blazers lost game one and HCA, they stop have a shot at winning the series, but it will probably take the full 7 games now to do it. The pels play with a short rotation so the longer the series goes the more likely they get burned out.

I like how you left out the D in the thread title, kind of like how the Blazers left out the D in the game.

Their Defense wasn't the worst part. The worst part was their pathetic attempt at offense. What was our three point shooting percentage?

It was a loss and the team played poorly. If they lose 3 more in the series then it's an issue and if they don't then they move on to the next round. Simple as that.

Waiting to lose the first game of a series with home court advantage in order to get their shit together is not the greatest of game plans.

It's time to buck up, win the next game, this series, and keep the aggressive attitude going into the 2nd round.

No shit, Sherlock.

"They totally phoned it in and were horribly ill-prepared for the Pelicans."
True statement, makes them primed for this to be a wake up call

So was the phone call they made last night their wake up call?

On the one hand, our stars played like ass and we almost came back.

On the other hand.... our stars have been playing like ass for about 10 games now.
Yeah, I'll join the positivity crew if we win the next, and not before.

Not really, I know him well. Had lunch with him and his dad and brother about a month ago. We're long time buddies and he knows very well that I meant absolutely no disrespect. Write it off to an apparently lame attempt at humor.

It's considered bad form to join a band wagon late. However, joining late is better than not joining at all.
