Spurs not playing well, dropping game to Oklahoma. Denver now in 2nd. Portland possibly peaking? The road trip will tell. Portland has not had a long win streak all year long. Right now would be amazing timing to peak, get a long win streak, and roll into the playoffs. 1 game back in the loss column. Get it even by end of year, make that Denver game count. That's all that has to happen.

I'm trying not to be too greedy. I'll settle for homecourt advantage in the 1st round of the playoffs.

The problem with the 2nd seed is that it is a first round date with Dallas and we're not great against Dallas.

True, I'm honestly afraid of Dallas more than any other team in the west, although I'm not convinced the Jazz will fall to 8th.

I want us to win in either San Antonio or Houston (along with winning in Oklahoma City and Memphis).

We need road wins for a couple reasons. One, it gives them confidence towards winning on the road. Two, they need to kick the crap out of OKC to get them back for kicking the crap out of us in OKC earlier this year. Three, the team needs to get that monkey off their back (winning on the road against a team above .500). Four, on the good chance they don't have HCA, they need to know how to win on the road. Right now, they don't.

I'm obviously rooting for Utah to beat Denver but it doesn't look good. Tonight was the most important game of Utah's season so far and they layed a big egg. It really looks like they're about to fall apart with this tough schedule coming up.

Hopefully they sack up and take it to Denver.

Portland actually has a shot at the #2 seed. Not a good one, mind you, but it's amazing that with 8 games left, they're just a nice run away from possibly being the #2 seed, with HCA at least until the WCF.

I honestly can't remember a year with the WCF this closely contested. From 2-8 all the seeds are pretty close together.

It is an odd year. I do hope we hit a run and get the #2 but a little voice tells me to be careful what you wish for. The expectation as a #2 to win could pressure this young team especially with the even talent 2-8. Maybe we'd be more likely to win as a 3 or 4 seed?

Naaa screw it just grab the 2 guys :)

How bout last season? 8th seed won 50 games and the #1 seed only won 57. Much closer than this year.
