I'm sure there are lots of stories every year of law abiding citizens who kill the criminal(s) before any high level damage is done. You likely don't hear about them because it doesn't fit the medias narrative.

Definitely. I seem to remember there being talk that good citizens carrying concealed weapons stopped the Clackamas town center shooting from being worse than it was

You also tend to hear about these incidents taking place in areas that don't have high gun ownership and especially high percentages of people carrying guns. School shootings for example take place in areas that are gun-free zones. California is notoriously difficult to get concealed carry permits. So even if you don't see the gun owners shooting and killing the bad guys, their existence is likely affecting where the mass shooters and terrorists consider targets.

All that being said, I do think we need to close loopholes so that every gun sale (including person to person) and ammunition purchase should have to go through a background check or at least added to a database. There are common sense laws that can be implemented but taking guns away from citizens just softens up the target for the bad guys.

I don't agree with this at all! Why the hell does anyone need a background check purchase after purchase even worse, each time you take even temporary possession? Then it becomes even more objectionable when you add getting a background check for ammunition, time after time. Damn man, the background check cost more that the box of ammo! A box of .22 round is pretty damn cheap, the background check is maybe 10 times the cost.

Then there are a lot of guys like me, they load their own. What the fuck you going ask for next, background check when ever I buy anything I could possibly use to make ammo? Lead, copper, steel,
chemicals?

This is not only infringing, it is intrusion into private affairs.
