Said so in the game recap on ESPN.com.

Thats a bit of history in 13.5 years at the RG. Very impressive!

Out of curiosity, what's the all-time home record? I assume it's the 90-91 season, but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Really? I figured the Pippen lead squads would have won more games at home. Impressive.

One of the top 5 home courts in this league based on the fans and their effect on the game IMO. Maybe even top 3 behind Boston and Utah. Laker fans are too busy on their cell phone or twittering, Cleveland fans need their PA guy to continue to tell them to yell, same with Orlando.

I love our home court.

Yep, 90-91, we went 36-5. We also went 36-5 in 77-78, the year after the championship.
In 89-90, we went 35-6.

I have a feeling the Rose Garden will be one of the most feared place to play in the NBA for opponents in the coming years. This Blazer team is special and the city has very passionate fans.

Does this mean we're a really good home team or a really lousy road team?

Actually, I remember the '99-00' season really well. They got off to a scorching start and fell off at the end of the regular season. They were on pace to win about 65 games with about 20-25 games remaining and they played about .500 ball afterwards and ended up with 59 wins. It was a game at home vs the Lakers that we lost that started a free fall of sorts at home.

In the end, they were about the same at home vs on the road record wise. I remember Pippen saying (after they stole game 2 in LA in the WCF) that they felt like a better team on the road and that they concentrated more. That series Vs the Lakers we went 2-2 at LA, and we all know how that 2nd loss went down in game 7. Problem is, we were 1-2 at home.

Why are some teams relatively the same home vs away? I think it's because defense travels well. Look at the Spurs. They are only slightly better at home than they are on the road. The 08'-09' Blazers have to play well offensively most nights to win, and that's not as easy to do on the road. The '99-00' Blazers won a lot of 82-80 FUGLY games away from home.

I can't find that piece of trivia, but I did find that we won our first 26 home games in 1977-78.

Would have been cool to see either the 90-91 blazers or the 77-78 at the RG. But its impossible, it didn't exist when those teams did.

Well, I think the fact that this team is so good, so soon, is absolutely amazing.

Completely agree, they feel like they are about a year ahead of schedule -- at least.

Then again I never would have predicted that Joel and Blake would so significantly improve their play this year, I thought Batum would be lucky if got to play in 5 games all year and I never saw Roy making the quantum leap from really good player and possible occasional all-star to bona fide top ten player in the league.

Those darn kids, they grow up so fast!

Well, I guess some people predicted Blake... and I didn't believe it.

But ya, Batum was a huge surprise... Joel is pretty much Joel though... I think he has pretty much improved every year since he got here, and now he's just a solid veteran/borderline All-Star on good team. If he wasn't so valuable to us, I'd say he is easily one of our greatest trade assets.

Roy.... well.... I don't think anyone thought he would be THIS good. We all knew he was All-Star material... team MVP material... but LEAGUE MVP material??? I don't know...

Great game! I had a blast!!!

Did you photoshop that or did they really have that up on the screen?

I can't find that piece of trivia, but I did find that we won our first 26 home games in 1977-78.

Extending back into the playoffs of the previous season (the Championship) and into the end of that regular season before it, Portland had won 44 consecutive home games, more than a complete regular season's worth.

Btw, I'll have some videos up in the near future. To late tonite, but hopefully tomorrow. Well later today.

Is it real? Did they really have that on the screen at the RG?

Yes, they had it up on the screen. When I seen this thread I thought they said that at the RG, but then I thought wait, I might have a pic of that. Sure enough.

I ran out of space on my mem card during the game, but went back and deleted a couple little movies I took that didn't have anything worth saving so I'd have room at the end of the game to take a pic of the score board and glad I did. I have a few pics of the board after the game.

Anyone know the margin of difference at home? I'd have to guess around 10. We've had about 15 blowouts, and all of our loses have been very close. They are averaging 103.4 points per game at home.

If we could have been a .500 road team this year, we'd be in 2nd place. Next year, we could win near 60 games if we improve on the road.
If that were the case, Nate's win total would have increased by 10 every year since he was coach. Can we push it up to 70 in 2 years?
