A JILTED boyfriend killed 32 people on a US college campus yesterday.
In the country's worst ever gun massacre, the maniac -- who also shot himself dead -- burst in brandishing two 9mm automatic handguns and an "ungodly" amount of ammunition.
Students said he first killed his ex and then a man at Virginia Tech University, Blacksburg. The slaughter began at 7.15am when the gunman opened fire in a dormitory. Pupils were ordered to remain indoors as the cops swarmed in. But two hours later the man described by students as an "Asian" in his twenties, re-emerged in the university's engineering building and began firing indiscriminately into classrooms. Terrified youngsters leapt from windows three storeys up to flee the rampage.
Some whjo jumped were among the 15 being treated in hospital last night

Source - Reading the Sun newspaper

Nutcase..

was all over the news last night.

I know it might be easy for me to say, not being in that position, but if the sources are right that he lined them all up and shot them one by one, surely you would just fucking run at him if you knew you were going to die anyway?

DD your talking about a different guy who killed some girls at an Amish school, that was a few months ago.

i suggest you watch the news

The death toll is now at 33. And there are 29 more people severly injured, this is so scray to me, I came back from my first class yesterday and heard the news, my sister goes to school in Virginia and I was scred to death for her, Thank God she is alive and well.

I dont know how bad this event is being portryed in Europe but here in the US its devastating, every single channel is reporting on in, VERY SAD!

it's a sad shame, and it happened on the dya, i read thsi articale calling for a u.s/u.k beslan,a nd if you don't know what a beslan is, it's that russian school when those sick terrorists got those poor kids under their control for a whole two weeks, just gave me the creeps, cause i just read it when that report came up.

not saying its america itself but i dont ever remember this type of thing happening in england

Something like it happened up in Scotland a gunman went into the school killed most of the pupils and staff then shot himself..

Well, at least a loser like him is dead. I dont know why he couldnt just shoot himself and leave everyone out of it..

Yeah exaclty. I mean, a civilian can get an assault rifle...

From what ive heard the guy had severe depression...every time someone asked him his name he would write a '?'. Also he was considered a loner so maybe that drove him made...But still it aint gonna change the gun laws in the US. So how many more people have to die before this is changed???

Probably never, americans love their freedoms to pretty much anything, including killing 32 students with over-the-counter weapons. Surely something has to be done

and apparently virginia has really lax laws on gun ownership.

Gun laws will never be changed in america, its in the Constitution...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"><font color=""Black""> The Second Amendment, as passed by the House and Senate and later ratified by the States, reads:
?A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.?</font></div>

got that from Wiki - Second Amendmant

Yeah your right I think, he went into the class, got them to line up and he executed them

OH NO! Some faceless, white, middle-class kids died in America.

Forget the 170 innocent people that died in the biggest single car bombing Iraq has seen since the "liberation".

Or the people Robert Mugabe is killing in Zimbabwe while the likes of Bush and Blair turn a blind eye because there are no plunderable natural resources in the country worth another illegal invasion.

I actually applaud this kid for taking a stand, just not the way he done so. The hypocrisy, greed and snobbery in middle America, and in turn Britain, is sickening.

mmhmm, i agree with you there, but still... anyway, because of of the english/american thing, our news would be based upon things in the west.

While i was in Kenya there was alot of african new which i would never have heard about in England

Canada do not have more guns then the United States.

Reading this Thread I feel a little insulted. Some people are mis-informed and judge without knowing the facts. Gun control is shit in the US I agree, but who is to put our mental sanity in question? Killings happen everyday all over the world, some humans are unstable period. Americans do love freedom it is true, but the freedom this country provides is what makes it the greatest to live in (my opinion). Of course freedom comes with repercussions, but who gives anyone the right to judge? Guns dont kill people, people kill people.

It is silly to compare the US with the UK or Canada because the UK and Canada are not half the size of the US so it would be dumb to do that. Dont get me wrong people, im not trying to justify Americans for our absurd gun control I just think people should stop pointing fingers and judging and respectfully give us time to mourn, things will obviously change drastically here after these events but this is not the time to focus on that.

It just makes on sense as to how Americans can justify having firearms in their homes like they do, when the rest of the developed world realised it was a bad idea to have guns alomost-freely available like that.

The pro-gun lobby in America is the one that is really infuriating me. They're saying "well this wouldn't have happened if everyone carried a gun". How is that any better?

But then they're would still be murders? Whats the difference?

It's hard to just get guns off the streets when Citizens have been used to such a freedom for centuries. There are towns in the south where everyone casually walks around with a weapon. To their minds its for protection from the bad guys, some think shootings like this one would be prevented if enough people would be armed to defend themselves, I dont agree with them but I think that at this point we have thousands of guns in the streets in the US, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get the guns out now. It wouls be too hard and people would feel robbed of their freedom. Might sound easy but it's really not.

<div class="quote_poster">incandecio Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">not saying its america itself but i dont ever remember this type of thing happening in england</div>

It hasn't. If i remember correctly someone got seriously injured in an incident but never to that extent

R.I.P to all those that died

the worst shootings in one month was 3 in england. (feb this year, im not sure if it actually IS the worst)

<div class="quote_poster">lilguy1991 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Canada do not have more guns then the United States.</div>

canada have more guns per quota that america.

also things wont change because this isnt the first time some guy cant keep his head and went shooting up a school.

its not gonna be easy to get guns away from everywhere, but if guns werent so easy to get hold of then there would be less shootings instead of the clowns who think more guns would reduce it. anyway theres more pressing matters like someone said, the 170 in one bomb, this seems to be happening too often and although one fuckhead who cant handle life and kills plenty of others is tragic its minor compared to what america has caused in iraq

Just because Canada has more guns per quota does not mean we have more guns then America. America has a much higher population then us and I am telling you it's a fact that United States has more guns then Canada.
