Have spent number of years there and have many friends in the midwest, many just had it the Clintons, especially Hillary. She avoided the midwest on purpose because she would have been challenged big time by Schlitz drinking democratic military unionized members of the democratic party.

A 3rd party candidate could definitely change the landscape of the voting, but it can also go against trump as his base will always suck up to him, but there will be plenty of people who voted for trump that are republicans that might lean to a 3rd party candidate as well.

It could go against Trump, but my thesis is that Trump's core cultists will never ever leave him, so as long as the vote is sufficiently fractured, he can still win with just his core.
