jeter was playing better but it's clear he's a hobbled shell of his former self

better to go out now than to cling to the past and embarrass yourself so I appreciate that he chose now to hang it up

And IMO Jeter will have a better season then Ripkin's final year. (Average wise).
 
quite a nice recovery for nova - 8 hits but no walks which was critical

he got out of an inning allowing one run on 4 hits so there was definitely some luck as well
 
If he lets this asshole Carp hurt him I don't want to see him in the bullpen ever again.

Phelps has been BP all year, comes in with two outs and no one on in the 8th....lets three baserunners on, he's already hit a lefthanded hitter in AJ, you have Cabral who's been good fucking ready to pitch to Carp...but no let's leave the shit RP in, Girardi gets bailed out
