Biggio, The big unit, Smoltz & Pedro.

For what its worth the following players vote totals went up,

Clemens 35.4 to 37.5
Bonds 34.7 to 36.8
Bagwell 54.3 to 55.7
Raines 46.1 to 55.0
Mussina 20.3 to 24.6
Piazza 62.2 to 69.9
Schilling 29.2 to 39.2

Some of the players whose vote totals went down,

McGwire 11.0 to 10.0
Sosa 7.2 to 6.6
Kent 15.2 to 14.o

It's a joke that Smoltz got in and Mussina did not...Raines either.

Yeah, and I noticed (just as I thought) the big mouth sh!tface Schilling moving up rather quickly on the list. These writers can't wait to put him in....and part of the reason I believe is an underlying anti-Yankee sentiment....see----> bloody sock, Redsox championship, Arizona...
......and of course he was an outstanding pitcher.
Schilling's votes increased more than twice as much as Mussina's.

Maybe someday Moose's stats will be better appreciated when the geniuses realize and understand he pitched his entire career in the DH/A.L. !

How much better was Smoltz over Kevin Brown or David Cone? Jes wonderin.

At least Biggio reached great historical numbers in a couple categories /
doubles, runs, hits, sb (over 400 which is approx 20 per for 20 years) not bad.

Yeah that's a mystery............

Mussina = 270-153
Smoltz = 213-155

IMO Smoltz got in because of his playoff history 15-4 with a 2.87 ERA while Mussina was only 7-8 with a 3.43 ERA. Also being the only pitcher in history with over 200 wins & 100 saves (154)

But still Mussina getting only 24% is a joke.

Not to mention that Smoltz pitched pretty much his whole career in the NL...while Mussina pitched his whole career in the AL East.

Also about Smoltz since 1967 only 9 other starting pitchers were inducted into the HOF by the BBWAA with a lower winning% (.579)

Also during that time only 3 other pitchers (Newhouser, Lemon & Drysdale) got in with lower win totals (213)

Mussina's 270 wins & a winning% of .638 should make him a breeze to get in...........................SHOULD?

They seriously need to start looking at better ways to vote these players in.
Take a look at this bullshit theory of an article. I see where the ass clown is coming from, but I sure as hell don't agree with him. This writer if he was looking for a legit guy to leave off the ballot, he should of picked Walker, Bagwell or Schilling.

This writer thinks he's going to get a Players Ballot with less than enough pctg points, into the Halls, while leaving off the obvious 2, RJ and Pedro, strewed Pretzel Logic to me...!

Mussina should have received far more votes, and definitely more votes than ketchup sock man, but Smoltz deserved in...

...Tim Raines, the greatest leadoff hitter of all time, not named Ricky Henderson.

His totals jumped from 46% to 55% so I think he's pretty much a lock for next year. To which I'd say....."It's about f'king time".

Schilling recieved an increase of twice as many votes over Mussina from last year.
Smoltz did get in which leads me to this comparison:

Glavine 682 GS, 4413 IP, 3.54 ERA, 25 SH-O, 56 CG, 2607 K, 1.31 WHIP
Moose 536 GS, 3562 IP, 3.68 ERA, 23 SH-O, 57 CG, 2813 K, 1.19 WHIP

We know about their W-L records and no doubt Glavine belongs in the HOF
But after looking at that comparison and Moose's numbers,
.. and taking into account Moose pitched his ENTIRE career in the DH/A.L.
I would like to hear their excuses and reasoning for leaving Moose out while also putting Smoltz in ahead of him.

Not only not getting in but 24%? WTF are these idiots looking at.

Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens not in the hall is a farce. I stopped caring about the hall of fame.

Moose didn't talk as good a game as BIG MOUTH SH!TFACE Schilling and "you" have to know Smoltz was sort of a chosen darling being both an outstanding pitcher AND a lifetime member of that Braves P Staff.

Less we forget, the Yanks beat those Braves 2-2 in the WS.
Bless you boys.....amen.

I disagree completely! Bonds cheated his ass off in SF... Who knows how long Clemens did but he did...

So did everyone else, yet they dominated all of them, and dominated before PEDs as welk

That's what 9fingers Jose said...85%, that's pretty much everyone.

Coming from the King of Liars, Cheats, and Frauds, I imagine that includes Bat Boys, Grounds Crew, and Hell, even those peanut bag throwers, who have more talent than many MLB pitchers, with pin point accuracy on top of talent.

You are referring to obama? Sorry, couldn't resist...
