Spurs' bench advantage over the Blazers. Without CJ's garbage buckets, the bench had 2 points.

Yeah, Will Barton is not the answer. He can do it in spurts, but I don't know.....

And people bitch about Mo Williams, best bench playmaker in the NBA.

We really need a bench for next year because chances are we won't be as healthy as we were this year. And the West will be as strong as ever, so if one of our starters go down, good bench players will be paramount to our chances of making the playoffs next year.

We don't have the money or the draft picks for a bench next year. We will probably end up signing Mo Williams and a couple of other part timers.

The best thing for the Blazers financially is for Mo to exercise his player option for next season. If he really wants to be here, that approach doesn't impact the MLE money.

You know, even with his contract the way it is, Batum might have some value. I'll bet we could get a couple of first rounders for him.

Deng will be overpaid. We have some decent talent on the bench, any of our guys on the bench, would somehow work in Pop's system.

Kirk Hinrich or Steve Blake should also be at the top of our list.

I dunno, I have high hopes for him. He's taking the classic 2 steps forward, 1 step back growth, but he keeps taking those two steps. I think he's our 6th man in the not so distant future, and a legit one.

I think he'll probably be a Nate Robinson type player. Lots of instant offense, but kind of sporadic. I think he's a keeper though.

Well I hope Olshey is ballsy enough to make a really big splash. Even if it means doing something with a fan favorite.

There are people in this thread who want to get rid of Batum?

That's staggering.

I realize you guy's are probably all Salty after this last loss at home, but take things into context.... The Spurs have the best bench in the NBA... BY FAR.... The Blazers have probably the 5th worst bench in the NBA (at best).... Why get so pissed off about it? It is what it is.

I understand it is frustrating though, so dont mind me if you want to vent.

Sorry, couldn't resist

EVERYONE who bothered to take an honest look at our bench, knew it was shit again this year. That says more about how historically bad our bench was last year than anything else though because it is much improved.

We can get Patty Mills. Mills, McCollum, Barton and Robinson might not be too bad. But the spurs bench would probably beat our ass right now.

McCollum and Freeland for Olynyk would be amazing. A great bench scoring rebounder who plays great within a team concept. We could have drafted him which kind of pisses me off thinking about.

How's his defense?

Would a defensive player with limited offense fit in Stotts system?
