Yep pick your poison Houston, but honestly it would be better for Houston. The pace would pick up which helps them. Hopefully, stotts knows this and has a counter.
They just said on Sportscenter that LA is only the second player EVER to score 40+ and grab 15+ in the first game of the playoffs on the road.
The other guy to do it?
Wilt.

LMA still shot a few too many jump shots for my liking, though.![]()

I did scratch my head at his screen on Beverly in OT.
Why?

Because he wanted his 3rd block.![]()
From Elias: Prior to Aldridge on Sunday, the last player with at least 46 points and 18 rebounds in a postseason road win was Elgin Baylor in Game 5 of the 1962 Finals. Baylor had 61 points and 22 rebounds in the Lakers win over the Celtics.
I dug his player card out of the grave on ESPN.

I think there were two criteria though.
On the road.
First game of the series (or maybe it was the first game of the playoffs, not sure.)

Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge is the second player in NBA history to have at least 40 points and 15 rebounds in a Game 1 playoff game on the road. The first was Wilt Chamberlain, who had 42 points and 29 rebounds for the Philadelphia Warriors in Game 1 at the Boston Celtics in the 1960 division finals (which was the equivalent of today's conference finals).
Would have if he hadn't set that stupid pick at mid court.Couldn't get 50/20?
What have you done for us lately, LA?

When does he get his own shoe?So much LA love on Sportscenter. It was the opening story. They showered him with praise.
Maybe he's as sick of Beverley as we are, and wanted to put the wood on him. We'd all like to knock that fucker on his ass. Maybe shouldn't do it out in the open like that, though.I did scratch my head at his screen on Beverly in OT.
Why?
This is what people have been wanting from LMA all season. Attack the shit out of the paint.
I'm okay if he starts doing this in the playoffs.![]()

LaMarcus Aldridge has a new Trail Blazers playoff franchise record with 46 points (45, Bonzi Wells, 4/23/03 at Dallas).
