We've had a forum member who changed the gender they identified as. I only met them when they were a dude and he was a really nice dude. Asking me not to call her a dude anymore wasn't controlling me at all. It wasn't a big deal and it didn't make her suddenly a Nazi.

If she did suddenly want to be called a dude again it wouldn't bother me either.

And just because you don't agree with how someone views them self doesn't make them mentally ill.
It's not because I disagree, I think it's a mental illness. I mean sure if you believe people can magically change their biology that's great, I'm just not the person that's gonna abide by their rules. I don't make people do that shit with me, make them call me things and what not, I don't put that control on people. There is a reason why most transgendered people are depressed, because their change doesn't fix the issue, it's something more. Like I said if your transgender or whatever the fuck you are and your cool with me I will be cool back because that's how I operate but don't try and make me follow your rules because I don't do that shit to anybody else.

I never said that and don't believe that.

You're spending so much effort labeling people because you don't like what they label themselves and somehow make it all about how inconvenient it is to you. You're calling them mentally ill, disrespectful, depressing, and comparing them to Nazis. And all some of them are asking is for you to change the pronoun you use when referring to them?

But that's what they WANT, Sly. They spend so much effort defining themselves and everything about their existence by their gender or sexuality. Instead of just being a fucking person, they DEMAND that society bend over backwards to acknowledge one of the 90 genders that they've come up with. It's pathetic.

Mrs PokerDog has a relative that came out as a lesbian in college. She went on to get her PhD in molecular biology, was in a few different long term relationships with women. She's nice, smart, funny, pays taxes, a great woman. Then in her late 30s she meets a guy, they fall in love, get married, and now have a beautiful baby boy.

Was she a lesbian? Gay? Bi? Straight? Confused? Mentally ill? A Nazi? Disrespectful? Depressed? No, she is what she was before, nice, smart, funny, and a great woman.

The only thing I don't like about her is there have been a few deaths in the family and every fucking time she writes and plays these amazing songs about them at their funeral. I mean who does that? Just ruins what people are going to say about the departed. I think of some kind meaningful words to say and up she pops with this heartfelt song that just brings everyone to tears.

It's not fair.

I'm saying they are like nazis in the sense of control and power over others. You must abide by their rules or you're the worst person in the world. Them being depressed is a fact, I mean depression is already huge in general but most transgender are severely depressed, look it up. I have no issue with them I'm just not going by their pronoun rules so I don't see the issue, I'm not spewing hate speech, I'm simply saying I dot wanna call them by their preferred pronoun and that's still not good enough for you.

Okay but I'm talking about transgenders. Not gay people. Gays don't sit and demand you call them this or that. Some do but the one side I have met have been pretty fucking chill. My sister had this gay guy friend and he was funny as fuck, he didn't demand special treatment or you call him anything, he just liked men and that was that. I didn't treat him different, I actually preferred to be around him because he was hilarious and said funny shit and I tend to like people with a sense of humor. I don't care what you are, even if you're straight and demanding certain treatment, I'm over it. I can't stand those kinds of people. Just as long as you're nice to me, I return that respect because that's what being a human being is about. As soon as you start inserting rules into human interaction it becomes unnatural and completely not an interaction

I knew a lesbian police officer when I was an Explorer Scout. She adopted a black son; a fellow Explorer Scout, and they were both two of the nicest people I've ever met.

I once saw her kick the hinges off of a bathroom stall door during a training exercise. That was one woman I swore never to fuck with.

Psst... some transgenders are gay. Some aren't. And most likely you've run into a person who is transgender and called them their preferred pronoun and not have even known it.

Seriously, you should go down to Darcelle's some night. Great show. Some amazing ladies perform there. (And yes, I know, not all or any of the performers there are transexual. Don't really know or care.)

Actually you should go to Sinferno at Dantes. That is mind blowing. Baby steps, work your way up to Darcelle's.

I don't think I have ever ran into a transgender before but if I ever do and they are cool, I'm gonna be cool back. I barely go to Portland honestly, there are dope people but also a lot of people I just can't stand to be around. My time is mostly spent at work, with the girl, I like nature so catch me out in the forest some time. Gresham is shitty but I will visit some places in town here and there but I live in the country basically so it's pretty nice away from the chaos of the city. I keep a pretty tight circle of friends as well. I like meeting new people and being social but maaaan, it's hard to trust people. I know I'm only 25 but society has really changed even since I was 15 and yeah I'm rambling now. Welcome to the OT section

Don't rule out the possibility that she's secretly murdering these people because she's thought of the perfect song ahead of time.

Not a thing off chord here.

Pretty sure that makes her bisexual. I knew a cute young bi girl that worked out at the gym and could get pretty ripped.

A few years went by and she grew her hair and stopped lifting and married an engineer where I worked. This was about the year 2000 give or take.

I was searching Facebook for old friends a few months ago and saw her page. Had a kid with him, got divorced and looks like Sylvester Stallone with tattoos all over.

I don't know if she planned any of it but it was very interesting to see how her life changed over the years.
