Except that polls close at 4pm pacific in VA and FL, and we may well know the result then (as if we already don't).

I already know the results, I own a partially scratched crystal ball. It's right 83.7% of the time. Same as Nate silver.

Usually, they don't report on results till the last poll closes as to not influence the polls.

I think that's state by state, though, not nationally. After all, the polls in the Aleutians don't close until 1am Eastern.
