I was in Northern California for the Loma Prieta earthquake, which destroyed freeways and all that.

Today we had a really big one that we felt here in San Diego. The house shook, doors swung on their hinges, ceiling fans swinging back and forth, etc.

This was a 6.9 on the richter scale, the Loma Prieta one was 6.9, too.

I've been through dozens of quakes before, and these two are the only ones I realized "it's an earthquake!" within 2-3 seconds.

I was in a theater and thought someone was kicking the back of my chair

It was in a mall theater and rocked big time. Swaying back and forth.

Not nice.

Just before I read your post my imaginary dog started barking.

barfo

Felt it up here in the Temecula valley, but it wasn't that bad.

I'm a lot closer to the epicenter here. It felt like Loma Prieta. The ground shook side to side quite noticeably, and it was a long (time) one.

I'm wondering if there's a lot of damage in Mexico. Their building standards aren't close to as good as ours.

the only earthquake i still remember feeling is the seattle one...

Pretty good aftershock just now, much shorter, certainly not a 6.9, but definitely people noticed it.

Felt it in Chandler AZ, nothing but enough to make my pool splash out over the edge.

Updated to 7.2 quake.

The epicenter was pretty close to Arizona, it was obviously felt there.

I felt it, but didn't want to say "Did you feel that earthquake?" to the misses cause she didn't feel it. I had been drinking for a few hours and I didn't want her to be like, "How drunk are you?" LIKE ITS ANY OF HER GOD DAMN BUSINESS HOW DRUINK I AM! There is a zombie jesus out there somewhere today!

I didn't feel anything, but I did hear what sounded like one my roommates leaving the apartment and closing the door. A few minutes later, I heard there was an earthquake. Maybe that was it? I felt nothing in my room.

Being referred to as the earthquake in Mexico.

So when does the relief effort start for MY people?

God must be pissed at Californicators.

It may be in Mexico but it will sneak over the border by morning. We taxpayers will be taking care of its aftershocks for years.

:biglaugh: well played
