You're right, I missed the class where they explained that it's okay for someone to make racially charged comments to another person, continue to talk shit, and not expect that person to get upset.
 
No matter what the old white guy did, the black guy made the first physical contact.
 
I think all of the parties involved with this are at fault. The guy that got beat up should not have started the incident with the "shine your shoes" comment, continue with running his mouth, then start a physical confrontation. The "67" year old guy could have just as easily kept quiet when going to the front of the bus. The girls video taping kept the situation going by telling the either drunk, ignorant, or mentally challenged man to "kick his ass".

The legal system should not be burdened with this. Publicly funded transportation should also be a privalege and not taken for granted. I say suspend all parties involved from riding.

No, the other guy said something to the effect "What does a black man have to do to get by, shine your shoes?" to start the whole episode. He could have also just look where he was walking and say excuse me if he stepped on the other guy.

seemed more like a misunderstanding at that point anything else. the white guy thought the black guy offered to shine his shoes. the black guy is a little more at fault though for following the white guy to the front of the bus and starting the actual physical confrontation.

he went to the front twice, it's all the black man's fault, he wanted to kick the old guy's ass basically not knowing the dude was tough (or shall we say a motherfucker). lol

nah, it can't all be the black guy's fault. the white guy was talking shit as well and yelling at him from the front of the bus. if he'd tried to diffuse the situation, then it'd all be the black guy's fault. instead, both are at fault but the black guy moreso than the white one.

I don't think the black guy wanted to fight as much as he wanted to come off as being a tough guy and not lookiing like he is getting punked by some old white dude.

That is why I think the girls were so effective, they were pushing his buttons (building him up).

So he did exactly as the mods told me to do when I first came to this board. They kept scolding me for "masking" words and said I should just post them because they would be automatically censored and rendered useless. Or maybe that was BBF, which this board has recently become a carbon copy of.

Calling someone white or black is every bit as insulting, IMO. Calling someone born here an African-American is simply lying, and referring only to American "Indians" as Native Americans is an insult to all natural-born Americans and historically incorrect. In the context it is used, only Africa has natives, as that is where everybody's ancestors originated. The rest of the world was settled by emigration/immigration.

Those of you with your panties in a bundle should harken back to 3rd grade lessons like this one.

I'm not against freedon of speech, but just so you got the facts correct, it wasn't just the constant use of the N word. He also said the black guy deserves it and that is the problem with black people in general . . . 90% of them are always running thier mouth and deserve to get beat up . . . something like that.

I don't know . . . but I would think advocating for 90% of blacks to get beaten up (if people listened to you) could end up with hurting someone. :dunno:
