You object to a parent taking charge of their child's education, rather than having their child in a class taught to a standardized test with 30 other kids in a room with little discipline? Civics hasn't been a requirement in school for a long time.

I don't quite get it. It's like saying "you never learned to look in your blind spot, use your signals, or buckle your safety belt? that's why I object to Driver's Education classes.

oh yes it's just terrible here in multi-cultured SF. Great restaurants/nightlife, beautiful people, dramatic views, and temperate weather all year round. For exercise I usually go hoop it up at various gyms, bike across the Golden Gate Bridge up into the headlands of Marin county, or walk 5 blocks to the ocean with my surfboard

about my only real complaint is that I doubt I'll ever be able to buy here... but thats supply and demand for you

Why in hell would a racist be a fan of any NBA team? In this case, we're talking about a fan of the Blazers, who spends untold hours on a forum that cheers for and hangs on every word about anything Blazers. I mean, there's two white guys on team of 14 now, and one of them is a foreigner.

I guess I just don't understand how someone would hate all black people, unless they play in the NBA, in which case they are heros. How can you be partly racist?

Maybe it's just a lack of commitment?

I'm not against freedon of speech, but just so you got the facts correct, it wasn't just the constant use of the N word. He also said the black guy deserves it and that is the problem with black people in general . . . 90% of them are always running thier mouth and deserve to get beat up . . . something like that.

I don't know . . . but I would think advocating for 90% of blacks to get beaten up (if people listened to you) could end up with hurting someone.

The percentage is a tad high, but crime statistics posted yearly by the FBI provide strong support for the opinion that they commit an enormmously disproportionate part of overall crime in America, with the emphasis on violent crimes. That's a fact no matter what excuses you make for them.

And it's not an American phenomena. The bulk of the continent of Africa is literally run by criminals, murderers and rapists. They are not caucasians, or asians, or spaniards.

The problem with dismissing generalizations is that they are generally true and accurate.

Obviously, many, many, many people do not fall into this category, and some might not if they had better opportunities in life, but it is what it is.

I feel for both the (not so bright) men in this instance as the bitch with the cellphone camera is the one who needs a serious beatdown.

I must be racist (even though I voted for Obama and strongly support him) as I simply can't imagine caucasian women doing anything of the sort. Can you?

I've known home-schooled kids and they have a very limited view of the world. They are clueless about so much in life.

I blame the fact that they are only taught a single viewpoint, usually by a parent who is an idiot.

I've never met anyone I considered qualified to provide a child's entire education, not even the best and brightest teacher I ever had. It's absurd to even go down that road.
