I think you've all heard of "7 degrees of Kevin Bacon", and I know we've done things like this before, but since we have a few days off between games (and I think we should try to distract us...and I want to steal thunder from HCP originally doing this kind of thread)...how about we play 7 degrees of LaRue Martin?

The goal is to find the a connection between a current NBA player, and go back the furthest you can, either in NBA history (I can go from Damian Lillard to Bob Cousey! or some such nonsense) or former Blazers (I can connect Draymond Green to Rick Adleman, etc).

One (annoying) caveat, you don't get to use Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett. Because if you do, you pretty much can go "tim duncan=>terry porter=blah blah"

https://www.hcs.harvard.edu/pallas/ (this is only dated from 2010 tho, so it's an aid not an answer key)

For example, I just tried Chris Kaman and "La Rue Martin" and there was no connection.

Julius: What the heck did you do? LOL

No idea why that did that. I think Sly is playing a trick on me. Off to the delete store I go!

I assumed you were trying to put up 7 threads, symbolically, and lost count.

I just got here, WTF was that? I didn't do a damn thing besides delete 10 LaRue Martin threads.

It actually put up 11 threads in total.

honestly, not sure how it happened. I clicked "post" once, and then closed window down.

you deleted them too?

I have no clue what happened. Some glitch I'm guessing. At first I thought it was like how facebook will sometimes show your post multiple times.

I had just come in the forum , see all these duplicate threads and I thought we were being trolled by someone. Then I notice they were all started by you. I clicked on three of them, saw they said the same thing so I started deleting them.

Joe Fulks (scoring leader 1947)-->Stephen Curry (scoring leader 2016)

Joe Fulks-->(1954)-->Ernie Beck-->(1961)-->Lenny Wilkens-->(1975)-->Bill Walton-->(1986)-->Sam Vincent-->(1992)-->Nick Anderson-->(2002)-->Paul Gasol-->(2007)-->Rudy Gay-->(2012)-->Marreese Speights-->(2015)-->Stephen Curry

Probably not the most direct route, but it works.

I remember when we did this awhile back. The key then was Marcus Camby......... he has played with EVERYBODY!

I don't know if that site works. I just put in Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan and got "no path" Am I doing this right?

they probably have to not be teammates.

Dillard to Lillard

Mickey Dillard 81 cavs
Bill Lambier 81 cavs/93 pistons
Sean Elliot 93 pistons/2000 spurs
Antonio Daniels 2000 spurs/2006 wizards
Caron Butler 2006 wizards/ 2010 mavs
Sascha Pavlovic 2010 mavs/2012 Blazers
Damian Lillard 2012 blazers

Am I doing it right?

After Bill Walton ---> father to Luke Walton ---> coached Steph Curry

I assumed we were only doing NBA teammates.
Okay. Maybe it would be more interesting to involve others though.

Jerry West ==> Jim Price ===> Moses Malone ===> Charles Jones ===> Tom Gugliatta ==> Delonte West ===> Lebron's Mom
