I'm just glad to finally have a game thread going, even if it's only preseason. It's a home game. Wish I could go.

It's been so long since I've thought about the Kings. It's basically Kevin Martin, Beno Udrih and a bunch of scrubs, right? Wasn't so long ago that our roster was that bad.

Damn the preseason is this close huh. Can't wait for the nba season to start.

Good luck in the game guys, hopefully you get a W.

What about tonight's game?

I'm going to the kings game. My mom and sister got me 200 level tickets to that game for my bday AND 100 level tickets to the home opener!!! I am stoked.

The Kings gave us problems last year with Theus' agressive defense. They don't have as much talent as we do, but they outplayed us last year. This game will be a good test for us.

ARTEST gave us (BROY) problems.

Hmm... I don't know if I could make it out. I'll watch it for sure. The moment is coming folks!

I hate playing crappy teams like them and the abysmal Utah teams from a few years back... well, that Utah team was supposed to be bad, but actually fought really hard.

These sort of scrappy, no talent, all heart kinds of teams can be pesky.

I've asked this question before, but not to this forum: why do we have problems with these kinds of teams? Sacramento and Seattle both kicked our ass a few times playing that kind of hoops. Why can't we handle that kind of intensity from teams that have less talent? And why can't we meet their intensity?

I think they have problems with these kinds of games for the same reason they seem to get up for the teams that are supposed to kick their teeth; they are super young and just like college and high school kids, seem to be more subject to the emotionality of the game they are in -- if it's the Lakers, they're jacked and play at an extremely high emotional level, if it's a team of scrubs they go into cruise control a little bit and seem to have trouble finding the energy and focus needed to overcome these "gimmes", especially when these teams have the ability to drive to the lane and "punch them in the mouth" a little bit. Give them a little more seasoning and we'll see these kinds of games swing our way more often than not.

is this game on NBA League Pass or anything?

Sacramento is broadcasting it. In the past if you have the LeaguePass you could see preseason games. As of tonight, no games are yet on the guide. But the Kings are covering it.

just checked my directTV...my NBA League Pass channels aren't even showign up yet.

not on NBA.com broadband leaguepass either.

Same here, but if you look there is a game on each night for the next few days on NBATV. This happens each year. I think by next week the preseason games will show up on the regular channels. This weekend there are games on TNT and ESPN though.

Looks like Directv has the game on ch. 698 with sports pkg. I have set my recorder so hope it is not blacked out.

Game day (close enough) . . . who starts?

Sergio, Roy, Webster, Aldridge, Oden

X-factor: Rudy

Sounds like the obvious lineup to me.

I'm really still quite stunned that Sergio looks to be getting decent minutes in the preseason. I hope he starts the year off on the right foot with a good game tonight. The league adapted to his style of play, but I think there's more than just that. He just seemed to lose his love for the game last year. Nothing would make me happier than to see him dime a dunk to Oden on the opening play.

The big question is who comes in first off the bench--Rudy or Outlaw? And who plays more minutes?
