The Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks are discussing a deal centered around Jeff Teague for Nerlens Noel.

The 76ers are considering trading away either Noel or Jahlil Okafor this offseason while the Hawks have been interested in parting with Teague to make room for Dennis Schroeder.

Teague will become an unrestricted free agent in 2017 while Noel is eligible for restricted free agency in the same offseason.

The Hawks are bracing for the possibility of Al Horford leaving in free agency this offseason

Teague is overrated as hell.

The funny thing, to me, is that he's basically Jrue Holiday, who they traded for Noel in the first place.

I like Teague but I think Philly can get him cheaper than for Noel.

I wouldn't mind having Noel on the Blazers for the right price.

ATL has been shopping Teague for two seasons, if that's any indication of his market and how little they think of him.

I wonder if this deal falls through if we could jump in. I'd definitely offer Plumlee and the CLE 1st. Give Teague 25 mpg of the bench as our third guard. Would still have space for Whiteside.

Lillard (36) / Teague (12)
McCollum (35) / Teague (13)
Aminu (22) / Crabbe (26)
Harkless (22) / Davis (20) / Aminu (6)
Whiteside (30) / Leonard (18)

Supersmallball would be fun: Teague/Dame/CJ/Harkless/Aminu

They must have some legit fears about Horford leaving, maybe he's not as likely to return as has been said? Either way, Atlanta needs to rebuild, and bringing back the German guy and getting a young center for Teague is a good way to start that.

Maybe they would be up for trading Milsapp too?

They should. No reason to start a rebuild but keep a player who will get you a worse draft pick then leave for nothing in free agency

Or maybe try to go the other direction with a 3-way; Plums/#1 to ATL, Teague/Aminu to PHI, Noel to POR?

That'd be a coup for Atlanta, but no way the Hawks trade Noel and the #1 pick.

Was he really talking about the #1 pick in this draft? I assumed he was talking about one of our picks.
Itd make more sense. Aminu, Plumlee and a first round pick sends like a lot to give up for Noel.

Yes, I was talking about us sending a 1st round pick to Atlanta (mirroring your proposed deal).

So, if Teague is too little for Noel (as was suggested earlier), and Plums/Aminu/1st is too much for Noel, where's the equilibrium?

Teague would be a one year rental, while we'd give up two starters and a first.

It's somewhere between there.

Obviously a straight swap of Nards for Noel?

Yet you were suggesting that giving up one starter and a first for said one-year rental would work for us. So, one starter and a 1st for a one year rental who would come off our bench is OK, but 2 starters and a 1st for a defensive monster who would start for us and is still on his rookie deal is too much? That really doesn't make much sense...

I think Plums and Aminu is enough IMO for Noel, but Atl wants a PG so try it this way. If I am PHI I don't to any of these because Teague is a UFA next summer while Noel is an RFA next summer, but if Coangelo wants Teague try this;

Teague and Plums to PHI
Aminu to ATL
Noel to POR

Of note, the advantage in trading for Okafor is he has "years"left on his rookie deal, Noel like CJ could get some big offers next summer if not extended

That would be doable.

If I'm the Sixer's I'd rather trade a big to Boston for the 3rd and 16th pick to draft Dunn and Valentine. (I'd draft Ingram as well).
That leaves cap space for them to offer big enough offer sheets to steal Harrison Barnes and Evan Fournier. I think they'll get at least 1 of them.
Dunn/Fournier/Ingram/Barnes/Noel
Backed up by
Smith/Valentine/Stauskas/Holmes/Embiid
Would probably win 30 games next year, while having their whole young core locked up for years.

A source has confirmed that the Sixers have had multi-player trade talks with the Atlanta Hawks. Yahoo Sports reported that the teams are discussing a deal centered around packages that include the Sixers center Nerlens Noel and Hawks point guard Jeff Teague. Sixers shooting guard Nik Stauskas and/or small forward Robert Covington could be included in the deal, according to a source.

Noel and Covington +.... that gets a little interesting.

If Atlanta goes through with this trade then watch for Millsap to Boston for #3.

Covington plus Noel for Teague would be a great deal for Sixers and bafflingly terrible deal for 76ers.
