Wheeler is employed by the Blazers, and Kenny Vance is desperate to be relevant again.

Unless they know something they won't tell, put them on the Yes Man list.

Born and Buchanon on The Game right now. They love Luke Babbit.

It's a shame that we're back to the shady FO days again.

Says Williams is a lot like Bayless in that he attacks the rim. Not much more. Williams is trade bait. :devilwink:

I'm going to change my opinion of Steve Patterson. Looking back, he was put in a no-win situation. I think he did what he could.

"Kevin led us today, and was absolutely spectacular." - Chad Buchanan.

Buchanan and Bourne have feel really weird today! The man that brought them in, is now gone! I just assumed that if they canned KP, they would walk with him.

They'll be gone as soon as Kevin gets a good gig.

"Kevin was so professional that he was an inspiration as a leader for us today." - Mike Born

I wonder if they would be willing to bump up one of these guys to GM.

I read that Paul Allen was listening to 95.5 and heard them talking about the firing of Pritchard at 4:30. He then ordered them to stop. Saw it on oregonlive.

Pritchard wasn't connected to Nash or Patterson prior to the Blazers.

Dumb analogy.

There are only 30 GM jobs in the NBA. A person who has a chance to get one should jump at the opportunity except in extraordinary circumstances. If Pritchard had KNOWN he was going to get screwed over, then he'd still be better off taking the job than waiting for another chance.

Similarly, Buchanan and Borne should jump at the chance if given a shot at the GM spot for the Blazers. Maybe they will succeed spectacularly here, or maybe they will do a good job and get fired like Pritchard. Either way, they're better off in the long run than waiting for another opportunity that may never come.

That's an opinion, for sure. Born and Buchanon are scouts with a passion for the game, not lawyers who sell their wares to the highest bidder.

Also, would Born or Buchanon be considered an upgrade over Pritchard?

upgrade over Pritchard?

That would imply that the decision to fire KP was because PA was not satisfied with KP's work. To me, it's seems clear that the decision was made for personal, non-work related reasons. If I'm right, PA should not have any reservations offering the scouts a promotion.

Paul sold 95.5 last year. So how could he issue orders to them?

And yeah, on draft day Paul has nothing to do but listen to a stupid sports radio station?

Uh, because they're Blazer employees?

Ok, didn't realize it was Wheels. Yes, Paul could tell him to shut up. Is Vance a blazer employee?

Now, how likely is it that Paul is listening to 95.5 when the draft starts at 4:30?

It Wheels, Barrett, Rice, Harvey

They started out talking about the firing, didn't mention it the rest of the night. They'd only label it as "unusual activity"

someone from vulcan says "hey paul, you probably want to listen to this" and he turns it on to find out what the guys on the other side of the wall are talking about... or more likely he walks outside to the broadcast truck.
