Wow, seems like it's been MORE than 9 years ago. Maybe I just wanted to forget about it.

BNM

I registered "FreeArtest.com" right after it happened, I got several media request for interviews but didn't do any.

Give this article a read when you get a chance. Amazing the memories.

Here's video for those who want to relive it:

I just remember Jim Gray (?) looking more shook than a media correspondent in Baghdad during Desert Storm.

happy birthday! ill send someone over to deliver the spankings

and a pinch to grow an inch

When Rasheed Wallace is the voice of reason, you KNOW shit's out of control, lol...

By the way, how many fans were arrested and/or fined?

"John Green: Convicted of misdemeanor assault and battery and sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years' probation.

Charlie Haddad: Filed a civil suit against Anthony Johnson, O'Neal, and the Pacers. O'Neal was ordered to pay $1,686.50 in restitution to Haddad, who pleaded no contest to violating a local ordinance against entering a performance space and received a sentence of two years' probation, 100 hours of community service, and 10 straight weekends in a county work program.

David Wallace: Sentenced to a year of probation and community service.

Bryant Jackson: Pleaded no contest to one count of felony assault and one count of misdemeanor assault and battery. He was sentenced to probation for two years and ordered to pay $6,000 in restitution."

Wow, that's today? I just laid down on my desk at work and had my coworker throw a cup of warm beer at me in memorium.

Ah, the memories...

to whom i wonder?

Nine years later the team has still not recovered. Attendance numbers are horrific for a contender.

I still love the face of pure horror on the face of the fan with glasses who Artest wanted to kill - even though he wasn't the one who threw the cup.

Classy fans though. Still heaving shit onto the court as the player are trying to leave.

HOLY SHIT! I've seen that video 50 times. Haven't in forever and it still leaves me speechless how it got SO out of control. Just amazing more people didn't get hurt. Children whoever......just horrible.

Anyone notice what Walton said:

"They are going to have to figure a way to get this over quickly"

Well, Bill. They did.

Man, what a horrible night that was for the league and the game. Can't believe it's been 9 years.

An oral history of the scariest moment in NBA history.....

For some reason I was in our bedroom watching that game. Wife must have been watching something in the family room. Anyhow, I called her in, and we watched the carnage. I guess I know I'm a huge NBA fan, because I remember exactly where I was at that moment. Too bad it was pre-DVR (at least in my house), because I spent most of that night watching various replays on ESPN.

The Pacers play a pretty boring brand of basketball. Effective as hell, but heavily focused on the front-court. They do sell out in the playoffs though, right?

I find it even funnier that ESPN had a Detroit and Indiana game. My how the time (and greed) has changed.

I was stoned over at my buddies house, maybe a year out of high school and I was flipping through the channels and saw a bunch of commotion. Then all the players went into the stands and I knew we were watching history. I watched it over and over.
