9th-grader arrested after taking homemade bomb to school

Well, that would be trespassing, as I am not currently enrolled in any white high schools. Under such circumstances, handcuffing me would be appropriate.
Not if you walked outside the campus.

I would most likely have codiene sizzurp on my person, thus breaching the drug-free zone boundries. This would render me in violation of local statute, and subject to arrest.

What a load of crap. If you really think someone has brought a bomb to school you evacuate the place. You don't keep asking a kid the same questions.

Sometimes a clock is just a clock (with apologies).
This boy is a hell of a lot smarter than the school authorities & cops put together. I hope he enjoys his White House visit. After the hell he went through for being smart and creative, two things Texas authorities dislike almost as much as being a Muslim, he deserves a good time.

Yeah it looks like a fucking bomb. If i left this on the sidewalk in front of the white house like that no one will think it's a clock

You'd think his parents might say...uh Ahmed,...not a great thing to carry to school.

Wires + timer = bomb?

There has to be some sort of explosive to be a bomb. Whether it's C4 or nitro or whatever. There has to be something that can actually ignite. Just the mere presence of circuit boards and wires doesn't make something a bomb. If the kid had put play dough or something similar that resembled plastic explosives... then sure, I could see it, but just throwing some wires into an empty case doesn't automatically make me think I'm going to die. The reason why I know I'm not the only one who thinks this? The first teacher that saw it didn't freak out. The second teach didn't even freak out. She said "that looks like a bomb." If it ACTUALLY looked like a bomb, I think she would have run out of the room screaming.

In an aluminum suitcase like that, Yeah it's what I'd think a suitcase nuke would look like

They are all fucking idiots if they didn't see this coming

But don't think you think it's a little sad that we live in a world now where you can't bring a squirt gun, or a knife to cut a cake, or even kiss a girl without getting charged with a major crime?

Sure, all that stuff sucks, but you have a muslim guy named Ahmed bringing an aluminum suitcase with a bunch of timers, wires sticking out, people are going to think its a bomb. Just like if you have some white kid come to school wearing a trenchcoat and acting all nervous, people are gonna freak out.

HERE IS MY HOMEMADE CLOCK IN ITS ALUMINUM SUITCASE WITH WIRES AND ELECTRONIC GIZMOS HANGING EVERYWHERE.

BRB, GONNA PRAISE ALLAH.

BUT DON'T FORGET TO PRONOUNCE MY NAME PROPERLY

By the way, in 24 Season 6, Kal Penn played a high school kid named Ahmed who got a suitcase nuke that exploded in Valencia.

But they didn't really think it was a bomb. That was pretty clear. And the engineering teacher should have stepped in right away and told the kid to take it home. He looked at it and disregarded it as a threat. Even the second teacher didn't act like she really thought it was a bomb. If she had, they would have evacuated the school. Period. They just wanted to punish the kid for bringing something that resembled a bomb to school. It's the same protocol as if he had brought a bright colored squirt gun to school.

So you're just missing the giant cylinder (aka the thing that actually goes boom) in the case? Yeah! It looks JUST like a bomb.

I want to see this "clock" in action.

Here are a bunch of people named Hitler that actually aren't all that bad.

The digitizer. You can see the numbering from the photo you posted. If this "looks" like a bomb, then why aren't cellphones more scrutinized as possible explosive device? A lot more cellphones are used as explosive devices than suitcases.

Sorry bro, I'm not Tony Starks, it looks like a suitcase bomb you'd see in a movie. Sorry I don't know the exact layout of what a bomb looks like, it looks like what one I'd imagine would look like.

Probably looks like a bomb to most people who aren't muslim apologists.

You cannot be serious with this shit. You're using 24 to back up your argument? lol

Well, that's what TV says a bomb looks like. So that's what most people would think. I mean I'm not out here reading Soldier of Fortune Magazine or whatevz.

Honestly, I would be MUCH more willing to throw the kid under the bus if he had left it out for someone to find and then tried to play the clock excuse. He didn't do that. He brought it in, showed his engineering teacher and then had it in his bag. The ONLY reason why the other teacher found it is because the alarm went off. He clearly didn't build this thing to create a hoax. He never deviated from telling people it was a clock. Just let it go.

Agreed. Now that I just saw a pic of his family smiling like idiots supposedly driving to see their lawyers they can go fuck themselves. If it was a real pic that is.

Well, he needs to work on his design skills then and go out in the real world and realize if you bring an aluminum suitcase that has a bunch of wires and a clock/timer on it with wires and leave it in your bag and it starts ringing, people are going to freak out a bit.
