Actually, if this all was a con, I will be upset if he's able to sue the school. That's taking money away from the school and other kids.

oh I'd love to see the deposition of his father and him.

Well, it seems like the family is moving in that direction, but I'm not sure if they'll be able to sue the school.

Ahmed Mohamed's Family Hires Lawyers to Get Clock Back, Will Homeschool Teen

The family of Ahmed Mohamed, the boy who was arrested for bringing a homemade clock into school that was mistaken for a bomb, has hired a lawyer to get the timepiece back and has decided to homeschool the teen and his siblings.

I doubt we'd ever find out though. I'm hoping the whole thing just dies off. Let the kid have his moment in the spotlight and that will be it.

That won't happen in todays world. So many events get made into political arguments, that it's just too much ratings out there to ignore.

Fraud how though? All he did was let everyones imagination run away from themselves.

You might be able to change the headline to "muslim boy tricks school and police into discriminating against him." But thats about it

He deliberately made a bomb threat at a school, even if it was only intentionally implied.

It's a felony worth 20 years in jail if you are Caucasian.

It is beyond me why people in here defend this kid. He built what looks like a fucking bomb! He got busted for it and the dumb ass we have occupying the CNC chair is beautifying the rascal.

Well from my view the kid look very similar to the "youths that blow up a hell of a lot of Marines in Beruit. "The caller was quoted as saying that two youths carried out the attacks" Only they used a real bomb. But really, fake bomb do not belong in school, it would take only a few to desensitize those on watch, then the real deal can be easily set where ever.

Yes profiling is necessary for preservation of our society, especially the schools.

The poster who can't tell the difference between a man and a woman also can't tell the difference between a clock and a bomb.

Meanwhile...

Turns out Ahmed is not as innocent as we thought! The intrepid reporters from Fox News have discovered that Ahmed got into trouble in middle school for ... drumroll ... blowing bubbles!!!! Yes, blowing bubbles!!! How many murderous terrorists got started in crime by blowing bubbles in class? Clearly, he should get 50 years in adult prison.

It's a short journey from blowing bubbles to blowing up cars.
