In and of themselves, the sentences are relatively innocuous. It's when they've been run together that I become a bit perplexed. Am I alone in this thought?

Im gonna have to suck it up quick cause the end of the reagular season is coming to a end quick. On another note im watching MTV's America's Best Dance Crew and Qwest Crew better win they're sick!

~Greg Oden

Greg is clearly Buddhist. Lives in the moment. He knows what he has to do, but for now, he's going to enjoy this TV show.

That's what I like about Oden. He's got his priorities straight . . .

(Sigh.) This kid has been an enormous disappointment, as far as I'm concerned. I sure hope he gets it together next season.

He is struggling with attachment, clearly.

It's pretty clear what he's saying.

Hey, at least he is not into fortune cookies, right? ;)

I don't know about that. If he was into fortune cookies, he would have the whole weight of the Chinese people for pressure to preform, as it is he only has we Blazer fans.

Well, don't be too hard on yourself...Greg's real love is philosophy. He plays ball to pay the bills, but he'd rather be a philosopher.

The Big Socrates?

The NBA needs somebody to follow up the Big Aristotle.

I was thinking more along the lines of 'The Big Nietzsche' or 'The Big Kierkegaard', the Greeks are played out in my opinion.

Translation: I know the fans are getting anxious, so I'll say what I have to say to make them think I care about when I come back. But, what I really care about is watching America's Best Dance Crew on MTV.

But really though, they only thing that seems conflicting to me is ABM's age and Greg's generation.

Not at all. In fact, I'd wager that you'd never hear/see Roy uttering these words.

Really, my biggest issue - if you will - is that he says he's gonna have to "suck it up" (as if to say he hasn't already?), then goes right into his Best Dance crew bit. Perhaps, it's a conflict of priorities? :dunno:

A blog is a personal thing. It is not a standard interview response. If Brandon had a blog who knows what he would say, perhaps it would go something like this:

hamstring is feeling better hope to be back by the end of the week really tired of waiting may have to suck it up. oh no brandon jr isnt potty trained and is taking a whiz in a flower vase on the floor!!! better go clean that up PEACE

It's a non-issue. People write blogs on computers or iphones/blackberries - usually people do this when they have free time and are generally in their room (hotel or airplane in this case) and have a tv by them. I'm glad we're reaching the point where we're persecuting the kid for ending a personal blog post talking about what he's watching on tv while writing a blog update.

He's clearly not got his head on straight.

I hear ya, but (besides Brandon) he is the focal-point and future of this franchise, so, naturally, his status is of the utmost concern to most fans. Plus, his latest entry seemingly was in direct response to many of the concerns lodged on his blog....as opposed to random musings on his part.

Incomparable. Roy has a family and is years beyond the maturity of G.0. I'm sorry but it comes with the territory when you draft a player this young or "one and done." While they may have found their career path, they are by no means beyond the Pizza, Beer, and T.V mantra of any young Americans life.

Look at Shaq he's still a big kid! Kaaaazaaam

ABM, I find your infatuation with Greg to be quite curious. Maybe you should quote the whole blog instead of taking one or two sentences that take the whole qoute out of context. By your standards, he should have no other interest othern than playing basketball. Christ man, let the dude live.

I want to see him play...so does Nate, so do many others. Like I had indicated, when he says, "I'm gonna have to suck it up", then we hear he's not playing......yet again (see: Spurs @ RG)......what am I supposed to conclude?...especially since (it appears to me) he's more than focused on the dance stuff.

How does it appear he's more focused on the dance stuff when 95% of his entry was dedicated to talking about rehab/his injury/getting back on the court? Wow.

OK, then, how might you define his phrase, "suck it up"? What does that say to you? It almost says to me that him coming back might be more dependent upon his frame of mind (attitude), as opposed to what his body (physically) might be telling him. In that case, I gather it would then boil down to threshholds of pain....or lack thereof.

I suppose, then, I should just suck it up and accept what is as being what is. :)

I think I'm pulling for the guy as hard as anyone and also can't wait to see him play again. Dumping on him isn't going to make him start playing again. If he doesn't have his normal stride like Nate said, it's possible he may still be hurting, no??? Looking around at the posts around the forums, you would have thought the guy killed someone's dog. This isn't Derek Anderson part II with a toothache, as far as I can tell. If the guy was a complete pussy, he wouldn't have came back in either game that he got injured. I'm wondering more about the training staff than Greg at this point, especially since they've shown a history of shoddy medical evaluations leading to further injuries to our players.

It seems pretty clear to me, he's sitting in a hotel room writing a blog post while watching MTV. Would you rather have him blogging from a strip club while getting a lap dance?

Not really. When he says he needs to suck it up, though, I'd like to see him suck it up......................beginning, say, tomorrow?

Or a dentist. His statement just adds fuel to the conspiracy theorists claims that he really hurt his knee playing Dance, Dance, Revolution.

Why not quit picking about what he said in a blog post and just see how it all plays out. I know you're a big fan and a really nice guy but you constantly picking apart Oden in multiple forums is getting old.
