A couple All-Stars tell Aldridge they want to play with him, Lillard in Portland

Plus if they said they want to play with LA they hope its not in the all star game cause he is just terrible in those.

If Melo was interested, I would do the deal. Is it a risk? Yes, but adding Melo to this team would make us a legitimate championship contender. Wes and Nic for Melo.

Dame
CJ
Melo
LA
Lopez

I'd also look at doing a second deal to bolster our bench. If we could get Hawes, that would be huge, but regardless this would be a deal that you build around next summer. If we're able to make it work this year, great, but we lock up Melo this summer and try to start adding vets for cheap contracts. Melo, LA, and Dame would easily be the best trio in the west and possibly in the NBA as a whole.

I was so anti-Melo before, but recently I've completely jumped on his bandwagon after seeing how hard he works for that sorry ass NY team. I sympathize with anyone who has to share the floor with Felton.

Dame/LA/Melo would be one sick 3 headed monster. I would love it even more if we could keep one of Nic/Wes as our defensive stopper at the wing. But I have a hard time believing Melo even talked much to LA.

This is an interesting process of elimination

East
Melo
Kyrie
George
LeBron
Wade
Bosh
DeRozan
Hibbert
Joe Johnson
Millsap
Noah
Wall

I think we can cross off George, Wade, Bosh, and LeBron.

Melo
Kyrie
DeRozan
Hibbert
Joe Johnson
Millsap
Noah
Wall

It's probably not Johnson or Millsap. We already know Hibbert wanted to come here, but at this point I doubt it's him.

Melo
Kyrie
DeRozan
Noah
Wall

I've heard a lot of rumors about Kyrie wanting out of Cleveland, but I really don't know how an Irving/Lillard backcourt would work. DeRozan would be interesting, but why would Toronto want to give up their only All-Star? Noah wouldn't be bad. Wall is great. I actually think Wall would work better than Irving, but I really don't see Washington giving him up for anything short of a star.

I think Melo could be had for the right price. I think Noah could be had. Maybe DeRozan.

In terms of pure scorers, the only guy who might be better than Melo is Durant. They're comparable. I've never really liked him much either, but he is a legitimate superstar. If you add him, we become a destination. People will want to play here because they will want a ring.

Here is the west team.

Love
Durant
Curry
Harden
Griffin
Kobe
LA
Davis
Dame
Howard
Dirk
CP3
Parker

This list is going to be much shorter. You can cross off Paul, Griffin, Parker, and Durant right off the bat.

Love
Kobe
Davis
Harden
Howard
Dirk
Curry

I highly doubt that Harden, Howard, Dirk, and Curry want out. The list just got very short.

Love
Kobe
Davis

We have all speculated that Love is gone from Minnesota, but I don't see him here. I think he's going to LA. His ego and his desire to play on the big stage will take him someplace like Los Angeles or New York. Davis is too quiet and I don't really see him going to LA or Dame about playing in Portland.

Could it be Kobe? He wants rings and that sure as shit isn't happening in LA. He has also been raving about Dame, even during the All-Star game. I just don't know if I see him leaving LA at this point

I never wanted Melo before either. Sometimes people mature, especially after a little adversity.

Noah is a great fit. Team and hustle player all the way. We would be so good with an Aldridge/Noah/Fropez rotation.

Realistically, is there any way for us to clear cap for a big name FA this year?

And according to Aldridge, a couple of All-Star players that shall remain anonymous have approached him, telling him that they would like to play with himself and Damian Lillard in Portland.

Jesus, how does this hack still have a job...

Haynes is probably one of the worst writers covering the NBA. I figured he'd get destroyed after his gaffe about Mo. Kinda surprised he's still writing... even more surprised our guys are talking to him.

The guy is all buddy-buddy with the players. You can see it in the interviews. Completely unprofessional.

Haynes was a total tool during the Batum negotiations, and he hasn't gotten better.

It's probably not Melo. I don't think he'd say something like this and then go to LA or Dame and say he wants to play in Portland.

Carmelo Anthony says he is willing to accept less money to re-sign with the Knicks if it helps the team attract big-name free agents, according to published reports.

"Without a doubt,'' Anthony said Friday while in New Orleans for All-Star Weekend. "Any opportunity I have to build that up in New York, I'd do it. I told people all the time, always say, 'If it takes me taking a pay cut, I'll be the first one on [Knicks owner] Mr. [James] Dolan's steps saying take my money and let's build something strong over here.'"

It's Lebron

Whether it happens or not, if true, it's kind of nice to hear that Portland is considered a destination and not a departure.

I bet it was John Wall and Carmelo Anthony.

Who cares. with no names attached to it, it's nothing. Just an article to get people talking. 99% of the media articles are just that... they lack the actual content, just speculation and hurried assumptions.

Seems a message board is the perfect lace, then, for that sort of talk?

But that doesn't give the media credence to follow suit. They should never be intertwined in terms of the look of their product.

Sorry, I see what you're saying now. No need to write the article, not no reason for us to discuss.

Re: A couple All-Stars tell Aldridge they want to play with him, in Portland, at the

Naw, my bets are on Lebron James and Kobe Bryant! Hence the Dame love!

Durant said he wants both Lillard and LMA with him on Team USA this summer.

Durant/LMA/Lillard isn't a bad big three. ;)

Trade Batum to OKC as a part of the Durant deal, because Durant doesn't want to have to carry his team like this every year.

Plus, there is the LMA/Durant Texas connection. Although they didn't play together as Longhorns, LMA did play a big role in recruiting Durant.

I could see Kobe landing here. What would it take? Just us willing to take that contract??

If only...he would be nice.
